My waiter in Madrid, Spain, said this was the only beer they carried because it was "la mejor cervesa del mundo" (the best beer in the world). It was not.

Aroma; pale malts, grass, cardboard, caramel note. Look; off white head, clear pale golden body. Taste; pale malts, cardboard, grain, dusty bitter notes - leading to a grainy finish. Feel; standard. Overall; got to be cold. [50cl.can abv5.5% BB;03-12-17 [email protected]]

Una cerveza Pale Lager de color dorado pálido, alta carbonatación y baja espuma. Su aroma es a levadura, Malta y toques de canela. Su sabor es a cereales (cebada) con un amargor suave y un dejo dulce. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: clear straw with one finger of fluffy white head, moderate retention and lacing. (3/5) Aroma: pale cereal grains, lemon, fruit (figs?), grassy, nutty, cardboard. (4/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter. (4/10) Medium-light body, moderate carbonation, sweetish short duration finish. (2/5) Huh not actually terrible - so, better than I expected. Starts off a bit sweet, but the bitter balances out to some degree in the finish. Theres also some lemon and fruit tones adding a hint of complexity and further tempering the sweetness. Couldve drunk more of these in Cuba, I guess. (8/20)

Strgult med lavt skum. Lukter karamell, korn og noe grnnsaker. Tynn munnflelse og smak av karamell og mais. Ikke veldig god.

330ml bottle. Aroma is cereal grain and a hint of lemon. The taste is quite sweet at first but with a balanced bitter finish. Medium body. Quite a pleasant lager. Certainly tops San Miguel.

On tap at McDonalds (Girona Airport). Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, slightly creamy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity-grassy and a bit floral aroma of fresh grass, grains and some citrus. Sweetish, slightly fruity-grassy and a bit floral taste of fresh grass, citrus and some grains, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly creamy and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice actually!

Gezapft in einer Hotel Bar in Madrid. Malsse in Aroma und Geschmack, etwas bitter im Abgang. Fr ein Pale Lager ist es okay.

330ml bottle at home in Richmond, as Mahou ***** Cinco Estrellas 1890 Cerveza Especial, 5.5%, BB Jan 2017. Golden orange, translucent, lightly sparkling, very large off-white head leaving nice lacework. Aroma is airy with some damp clothes, carpet underlay, vague cereals. Body is light, spritzy carbonation, touch foamy. Taste is sugary and nutty malt up front, some white pepper, a touch gluey. I have to say - this has a lot more flavour than the majority of mass produced pale lagers. Not fantastic by any means, but better than expected and inching past its competitors.
