altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - APR 5, 2012
Bottle in Spar in Fuerteventura, Spain. Caramel body. Sweet, corny nose. Taste is a bit malty and medicinal up front. Smoothens out a bit. Lots of licorice in there. Not a great beer, in my opinion. Was hoping more for my only non Lager this week...

stouby (4714) - Holbæk, DENMARK - APR 1, 2012
Bottle at home. Clear red-brown with a beige head, leaving some laces. Aroma medium malty (light caramel, roasted, dark sugar). Flavor medium sweet and bitter. Medium body. Nice.

maekchu (4018) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 22, 2012
Bottle from local Yamaya discount store. Interesting pie or cinnamon cookie aroma, some chiles. Coca-Cola brown, thin head w/ no lace. Pleasant roast malt. prunes, some choco. Thin bitterness in final. Thin slick body. w/ fizzy carbonation. Could use a bit more body. Nice enough but not really a standout beer.

Acaro (304) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAR 7, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2017 Aroma: Resin and toasted cereal notes, Appearance: Black color with hazy liquid and light tan head. Taste: Medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Palate: Medium body with oily texture and average carbonation. Bitter chocolate finish. Overall: Average beer, but easy to drink and to find in Spain. It is not very special but it satisfies the cravings for a black beer.

MaartenRF10 (1959) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2012
Clear dark brown, beige head. Hardly any nose. Nice full-bodied beer with good carbonation. Taste is mostly soft malts. Not very complex, but nice beer to drink.

Dazz3 (1798) - Hallsberg, SWEDEN - DEC 31, 2011
33cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a big brown head. Smells overall little, abit roasted malt. Tastes roasted malt and bitter with a similar finish.

Wombata (625) - Kobe, JAPAN - DEC 31, 2011
Aroma: Some Ovaltine malt drink at first, hazel nut, sweet, malty bread, a little burnt molasses. Palate: Sweet but not cloying. Flavor: Nutty, sweet, malty bread, molasses, yeast. Finishes a bit drier than it starts with bitter cocoa, molasses and slightly burnt coffee. Comment: Better than I expected. For me it’s best drunk cold so as to keep the sweetness in check. I liked the evolution of sweet attack to a less sweet finish.

thomat (4085) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 20, 2011
Very dark red with medium tan head. Fruity and malty notes. Malt, licorice and fruit. Medium body with a dry finish.

Cunningham (8247) - Halden, NORWAY - DEC 8, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 Bottle. Deep amber colour with an off white head. Mild but dominant caramel/chocolate nose. Mild flavour with dark malts, licorice and caramel.
