Reddish brown color. Nice head, good lacing. Sweet, malty aroma. The flavor is full of espresso roasted malt and a sweet licorice finish. The best Spanish beer I've had. shrubber85 (11322) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - NOV 14, 2004
Bottle. Nice coffee malt aroma with slight esters. Dark brown color with good head. Sweet creamy chocolate malt flavor but not too sweet - well balanced. One of the best Spanish beers I found - actually tasted like a beer. REDBOSOX (80) - Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 6, 2008
I like stouts and dark beers for the most part. I just got back from a vacation to The Canary Islands. I drank quite a few of these. It was the best beer to choose from, in my opinion. It’s got a solid flavor that’s still easy on the palate. It’s sweet, but that’s how I like my beers. The finish lasted nice and long. I could taste the toffee in this one. Certainly a great beer to enjoy! Wombata (623) - Kobe, JAPAN - DEC 31, 2011
Aroma: Some Ovaltine malt drink at first, hazel nut, sweet, malty bread, a little burnt molasses.
Palate: Sweet but not cloying.
Flavor: Nutty, sweet, malty bread, molasses, yeast. Finishes a bit drier than it starts with bitter cocoa, molasses and slightly burnt coffee.
Comment: Better than I expected. For me it’s best drunk cold so as to keep the sweetness in check. I liked the evolution of sweet attack to a less sweet finish.
