3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark straw color. The 1-finger rocky head lingers and dissipates to a lacy foam. There’s very little cling to the glass. The aroma is very subtle--muted malt, grass, and banana. Very little hop aroma. It has a creamy, sweet up-front flavor with hints of fruit, grass, and a whisper of cinnamon. Decent mouthfeel, smooth, with light carbonation. The finish has a slight hop bite that offsets flavors citrus, butter and ginger. The 6% ABV provides a bit of warmth. Overall, a nicely balanced brew. There are many better Christmas ales out there, but this one is definitely worth a try.
bottle @ Keg Liquors / Clarksville IN --- Aroma of earthy malt and light straw. Hazy light amber color, frothy white head that stays awhile, globs of lace. Taste is malt and carbonation and light hops that are tilted slightly toward pine. The whole thing is light and easy to quaff. Not very memorable, probably this one will be the only for me. I love the aroma but have a hard time describing it. Toasty, straw, some sweetness perhaps caramel. Earthy. The taste is beautiful and similar. A slightly delayed pine taste that comes on in the end and is very enjoyable. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - DEC 25, 2015
Slightly hazed, Yellow gold with a frothy white head. Spot on aroma. Toasty, caramel/burnt caramel, straw, German hops, something a little smokey? Flavor follows. Medium to full body. Light earthy bitterness and a slight smokiness. I like this. Its hitting the spot right now. Merry Christmas. bkurtz (1095) - Florida, USA - JUL 8, 2015
Bottle 25 oz - Pours a cloudy amber/orange with a smallish head. Sweet bread with some tart spice aromas. Starts with a nice body, but the finish is muddled and slightly astringent. czar (9076) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 20, 2015
pours unclear pale yellow, gold tint, with a small white cap, settling in quickly to a small rind, no lacing. sweet hay and spicy bready maltiness, wooden and grassy hops, hint of sweetness - wort and white grape juice; caramel touch, chalk - fairly mineral, white wine, pepper. light carbonation, light to medium body - oily and smoothly malted; semi-sweet yet balanced by a firm woodsy-herbal-grassy finish. this bock kind of grew on me. not as impressed as when tasting some of mahr?s great lagers but this brew is a more than o-k bock.

Bottle. Deep hazy orange body, thin off-white head. Odd nose, toasty and leafy with some weird stinky butterscotchy notes. Dry, biscuity body, layered and toasty, with light hints of fermented fruits. Leafy and tannic. Boring. Bif (2245) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - DEC 26, 2014
500ml bottle. Pours a dark copper color with adecent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of caramel, malt and spice. Taste of caramel, malt and a nice touch o f spice. Mild bitterness and the finish has a bit of lingering sweetness. Moderate body, smooth with a holiday feel. Nothing fancy, just a nice seasonal beer. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 2, 2014
