Aroma had some grain noticable. Alsoa good chocolate aroma. Cloudy golden aroma with small head. Flavor this tasted more like a stout. Full body wih a rich chocolate flavor. Not that spicyness that most christmas brews have. Chocolate on palate and smooth. A real enjoyable beer. Wish I remembered where I got it from.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2008 This is a very solid bock, and I have to say I’m thinking its under-rated! Bronze color with a good sized beige head. Light lacing. Aroma is ashy roast, toffeeish melanoidins and sweet candy. Flavor is similar to the aroma, with notable ashy roastiness that is smooth and understated, with no tannins. This all balances the full sweetness, allowing the finish to be balanced without alot of hops, but there’s a touch of spiciness to the finish. Rounded mouthfeel, very easy drinking. Plenty of caramelized earthiness in here.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a medium-sized off-white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is bready with lots of caramel, a bit of fruit, and some floral notes. Flavor is doughy/bready, caramel, toffee, some fruit. Has a long, lingering sweet and doughy finish -- sort of like candied bread. Has a slightly thick, almost chewy mouthfeel. A great bock. UPDATED: DEC 10, 2005 It’s "bocky". Nose malty, some peat, rather sweet. Flavor is quite malty, very sweet chocolate, light smoke, very bready. Light caramel undertone, a bit warming, quite nice. Pale brown/honey in color. Aroma is apple and maple syrup with heavy and ripe malts. Flavor is rich and hoppy with sweet maple tones and grape-caramel highlights. Hops is crisp, yet mellow and mature. Truly a malted champion with excellent hoppy crisp palate. The appearance is a bit murky and muddled. Very nice, overall.
