COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weisse Bock is an increasingly popular style that is strong and very tasty – with all of the fruity, spicy flavors one expects from a wheat beer, and more – but never too heavy on the palate. This rich, dark, and enthralling Bock is refreshing and drinks so easily that one would never suspect that it weighs in at 7.2% a.b.v. If you appreciate Aventinus, try Der Weisse Bock.

Ar: Tart peaches and cherry; a little banana and brown sugar; slight butterscotch. Ap: Deep ruby-brown and clear, though halfway opaque from the color; medium tan head with moderate retention, receding into a skirt of foam ring. T: Tart cherry and brown sugar; raisin and cleanly toasted malt; medium bitterness; a clean, lean alcohol flavor; black pepper; a little orange rind; banana and bitter alcohol on the finish. P: Medium body with very high carbonation; medium-dry finish. O: A very bright, acidic weizenbock; deeply toasty, filling but not thick; has a bold grace.

Keg @ Zly Casy. Deep amber pour, lasting dense head. Malty aroma, sweet dried fruits, mild spices. Chewy and smooth mouthfeel, medium carbonated, close to full bodied. Sweet caramel and dried fruit taste, figs, chocolate, cloves, strawberries, bread and some banana lurking around in the background. Fairly dry and warming finish, not bad!

I’m drinking this live at the brewery for the Mahrs Brau Weisse Bock Anstich. This beer fresh from tap is superb...and it’s only 10am. Light smoked notes with banana. Loke a banana on the grill. Beautifully thick, dark brown and cloudy. Cheers!

Bottle. Reddish brown in colour. Very malty (chocolatey, light-roasty, toffee, caramel). Fruity (banana & hint of dark fruits). Spicy & yeasty. Sweet with a sour fruity edge. Nice beer. (2008)
