Nice nose, burnt flavours toffee, some slight nutty (chestnut) notes, quite simplistic, quite easy but this is not a bad thing.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas are dark sugar, toffee. Taste is more of the same. Texture is thin and finishes sweet too. One dimensional.

[500ml bottle, The Beer Hive, Edinburgh] Pours deep clear brown with a thin tan lacing. Nose is thick, syrupy malt, umami, some beefy notes. Similar flavours, huge roasty, nutty palate, some sweet Demarara on the finish. Eands with that sweetness. Good stuff [03122013]

Shared a 50cl bottle from Maruhn (Darmstadt). Pours a clear brown colour with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, malty, raisins and nuts. Medium to low carbonation and medium to thick body. Flavour is a bit too sweet, but overall is a good beer.

Nose is lots of bread, leather and malt. Nice. Appearance is a lovely tan colour. Taste is bread, toffee, nuts, slight spice, sweet oaky finish. Palate suitable. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would.
