callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 26, 2013
Dark brown body, medium off-white head, spotty lacing. Pine, citrus, roast, a little earth and chocolate. Medium bodied, moderate bitterness, moderate carbonation, slight awkward finish as the malt and hops try to work things out with each other.

Pours a solid black color with a huge tan head that persists forever. Earthy hoppy aroma with a roasty chocolate some dark fruit and a hint of cardboard. The flavor is earthy and citrus hoppy with a fair amount of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick roasty gritty mouthfeel. Nice hoppy porter very tasty.

MrChopin (4305) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 30, 2013
black with thin cream head, consistent. Brownie and herb nose, balanced with some cake delicacy. Bit of playdoh marriage of stout and hops, otherwise excellent, balanced brownie cake with piney, resinous end, stings tongue. Rich body. Dense and delicious.

Bottle (thanks to goodbyeohio for sharing)... Poured black with a thin, khaki head. Some good retention. Aroma of awesomely dank, earthy, pine-like hops. Hop notes similar in the flavor with a good balance of roast and malt sweetness. Bright citrus, cocoa, roast, mild tobacco note too.

weihenweizen (4171) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2016
Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle, bottled March 11, 2016 poured into a glass. Black with big beige/light brown head. Aroma is herbal hops & dark malt, medium body, medium carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, herbal hops, some anise, some pine hops, and dry finish. Pretty heavy, flavorful, but just not for me.

Jow (4130) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 9, 2014
Bottle while hanging out with my son late night. Pours deep brown with lovely head and nice lacing. Despite being stuffy ingot a nice nose of cocoa and hops. Tastes of piney hops, grapefruit, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and herbs. Creamy yet bitter mouthfeel. Another winner from Maine.

500 ml bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with a creamy mocha head.

Aroma: Lovely dank/resinous hops with some nice dark-roasted malt character, lightly smoky, a bit of alcohol.

Palate: Medium+ body with fine, somewhat sparse carbonation.

Flav.: Lots of dank/resinous hops with a rich dark-roasted malt backdrop, a little grape jelly, faintly smoky, a bit boozy; dry with moderate bitterness and a long, roasty and hoppy finish.

Quite good.
