500 ml bottle. Radiant copper red color. Huge frothy beige head. Fragrant, toasted malt nose. Notes of caramel, butterscotch, roasted pecans and earthy hops. Toasted malt flavor. On tap at brewery. Pours an amber, reddish-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is floral hops, toffee, grapefruit, light earth, and a little something tropical. Taste is very hoppy; toffee, earth, some caramel, coffee, pine, and some toast. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Crisp mouthfeel - although a little too heavy for the style. Deep amber color. Aroma is malt forward, caramel light chocolate and nuts but is also hoppy with pine and sticky spicy hops that assert themselves a little more in the flavor. Prickly with a moderate bitterness. Good red.

Pours a dark rustic/copper amber (one of the darkest amber ales I’ve seen). Piny and floral scent with dark/tropical fruits. Bottle (May 15, 2017 bottling) Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (graham cracker, toasted wheat bread), lightly hoppy (grapefruit, resin), with notes of clove, grape taffy, and chicory coffee. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Striking sourness is undesirable for the style, and the aroma is weird too. Almost seems spiced or artificial flavoring-like. Looks nice but otherwise not pleasant.
500ml bottle from the Beer Cabin in Plattsburgh, NY. Bottled in late March. Nice roasted malt aroma with hints of maple sweetness. Light coffee and toasted notes. Light grassy hops. Hazy ruddy amber colored body with a medium light tan head. Starts with a grassy and herbal bitter hop flavor. Fair caramel malts in the middle, but then more bitterness comes in the finish. 500 ml bottle. Clear deep amber color (almost brown actually). Rocky off white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s: resinous hops, dark malts, light roast. Retronasal it’s fruity hops, sourish, caramel. Flavor is moderate to full bitter with loght toast - hardly any sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes slightly dry, reasonably bitter.
