brokensail (16432) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 4, 2016
Bottle @ Maine Mead Works. Red-purple in color. Get some nice berry notes to it along with grape, currant, and cherry skin. Has a definite fruit skin and tannic quality to it, so comes across as fairly dry. Has a nice touch of acidity as well. Very thin on the tongue. Has a light honey and fruit sweetness. Not bad.

Sampler at meadery. Pours purple. Slight blueberry note on the nose. Hint of blueberry tartness on the tongue. Better than the dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared. Purple red colorZ Notes of perfume, blueberry juice, light wax or plastics. Tastes like a fruited straight forward mead but lacking compared to the better producers like kuhnhenn shramms or b nektar.

Pretty watery for a mead. Smell is fruity. Taste is very lacking in honey and mostly just tastes watery and fruity.

Clear red/purple pour. Not very good. Drink is like a dry, watery red wine. A bit astringent. Not worth seeking out.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 22.06.2013, 0,75l bottle sampled @ The Festival Portland Maine:
Aroma and taste are both kind of Sangria like. Slightly fruity, red berries, grass, citrus, hints of honey. Fair enough.
