Not as spicey as most other bocks. Very malty and sweet. I tried this two times and second time it was much better. I don't know why. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - DEC 11, 2002
pretty tasty stuff. full and composty vodka aroma. not very salty or sweet for a bock Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Very delicate - almost vinous - aroma of roasted malt. Solid body with sweet, roasted malt and some notes of dried fruit. Warming alcohol in the finish with some hops does it for me: this is an excellent Bock. 061106 Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2007
Brown with a medium sized head. Malt aroma with some caramel. Big malt flavour, sweet but not cloying. rauchbier (3891) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2007
Bottle, at Bamberger Weissbierhaus, December 2005. Ruby red chestnut, thin white head and moderate condition. Gentle roastiness, slight malt and some background estery alcohol notes in the nose, sweet and gentle maltiness in the mouth, slightly spirity, with hints of roasted malt. Low bitter finish with some roasted sweetness lingering.

Bottled. A brown beer with a thick but collapsing light brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel and alcohol, but also lighter notes of metal and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and nuts as well as a warming sensation from the alcohol that also burns slightly in the throat. eczematic (1325) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - DEC 9, 2002
after managing to convince the cranky barmaid to serve us stinking hairy backpacker types up in the starched tableclothed restaurant at the michaelsberg overlooking bamberg, we got a pretty unremarkable but drinkable dunkelbock. ryebread and honey aroma - like that sweet dutch roggenbrood or whatever they call it. thankfully the flavours weren’t too sweet - mainly hoppy, with a bit of salty toffee, and a reasonable amount of bitterness in the finish. she didn’t seem impressed with the size of our tip. downender (8660) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2007
Bottle from REWE, Bamberg. Amber/red colour with an off-white head. Treacly aroma with some supporting grain. Flavour was very sweet with some balancing alcohol. Distinctive. joergen (28148) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2005
