My interpretation of a traditional India Pale Ale, with a pleasant dose of bitterness and a fresh, fruity taste. Inspiring and exotic. Surprises with citrus notes and floral nuances and finishes with hints of wild honey and caramelized malt.

Join me on an exciting journey through the world of flavors.

7c Bottle @ bruschetteria Zovo, old bottle. Pours bright orange with a thin fine creamy white head which comes to stay. Very aromatic, lots of bready and caramel malts, some candies, a little fruity, orange peel and spices. Taste is intense within the malty sweetness and generous hopping leading to a fairly strong bitter finish. Body is full, thick, alcohol presence is noticeable. Soft carbonation, dense creamy texture, long aromatic finish. Very good.

BOTTLE 75 CL. Hop-hazy amber, large creamy head. Big malty aroma, toffee and fruity, some generic hops blending in, a trace of zest. I think I am getting hints of cooked corn. The taste is quite malty, caramel and fruit, definitely some DMS here - you can feel a german bock scratching your back. The finish is malty and grassy - even more bocky! Thankfully, the body is IPA-ish - easy-drinking, not as sticky or boozy as many bocks are.

Very dense, rather stable yellow head over finely carbonated, slightly veiled copperish golden beer. Honey (lots of it), delicate garden herbs, caramel(malt), limepeel. Again mainly sweetish, toasted malts, caramel & honey. Only in the swallowing, a short noble hops’ impression, ligthly bitter, is there fleetingly. Again garden herbs. Warming up, tobacco ash. Light MF, feels very carbonated. Finish has some slickness, ever so slightly oily. Excellent, certainly the aromas. Not enough hops, even for an English IPA, but an excellent ale in itself. Another icon of the German Craftbeerrevolution - and from such a well-established brewery!

Bottle in Stuttgart, DE. Another Maisel masterpiece. Not hoppy but intense. Might be I favorite Maisel but they are all great. A visit to the brewery is on my list this winter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bit hazy golden color, minimal white head. Taste is more on the sweet and malty side than hoppy. Medium body, average carbonation. Sweet finish. Okay.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2016 0,75 l Flasche. Bernsteinfarbenes, leicht trübes Bier, ordentlicher, cremeweißer Schaum. Aroma nach Mandarine, Grapefruit und Honig. Geschmack dann ebendies, überraschend malzig für ein IPA.

Relatively mild and smooth for an IPA, easy to drink and pleasant. But actually not hoppy and intensive enough to get me really excited.

Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Smooth palate. Thin creamy malts. Dried fruits. Mild floral bitterness. Light finish. More like a bitter and a mellow one at that. Very tame IPA, toothless.
