500ml bottle at Nick’s Swiss restaurant in Yungaburra. Pours cloudy orangey-brown with an ample lasting frothy dense white head. Aromas of bread, cloves, banana and bubblegum without the obvious citrus presence of other hefes I have tried. Flavour is medium sweet with a lively refreshing mouthfeel and low bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Nicely thirst quenching. A fine German unfiltered wheat beer.

Bottle. This is a great hefe! Pours a glowing unclear orange golden with a smaller frothy fizzy white head. Aroma is lovely and balanced, the meaty yeast and light caramel sweetness played off well against each other, light phenol, maybe just a hint of vanilla and nutmeg? Flavor is refreshing and very drinkable, just enough alcohol, light caramel sweetness, light phenol, faint banana, touch of brown sugar, off-dry finish. Light bodied with active fizzy carbonation. Nice beer.

25-JUL-2010, bottle @home, from Morten. Lovely hazy orange with white head poured into a pint glass. Aroma has got the works with yeasty tones of spice and fruit. Quite malty taste, slightly sweet but still very refreshing. A fine weizen.

Pours a deep orange, slightly hazy body in my long, slender Maisels Weisse glass. With a brilliant, cloudy cream head, this beer looks delicious. Aroma is mostly bread, with some hints of citrus, banana and clove. Taste is similar to the aroma profile, with an additional sense of wort coming through mid-palate. Overall, this is a pretty good weizen which could’ve been a lot better with a bit more body and flavor.

Cycled into town (Bamberg) from our campsite just outside at Bug 17-06-10 had this on tap at a bar walking back towards town. The glass is probably as interesting as the beer which poured orange and cloudy with a white head. This is predictable wheaty in the mouth, bit fruity, banana and a bit of fruity furryness. Bottle from Csakajosor.hu. Poured with copper-honey color with a tan, large head. Grass, yeast, malts, honey, a hint of coriander in the aroma. Fruity sweetness with medium carbonation in a medium body. Somewhat dry aftertaste. A little too sweet for me, but not bad.

Muddy orange with an inch of off-white head. Very bready aroma with lemon, cloves and banana. Taste has lemon and wheat sourness over bread and a little spice. Quite light. Predictably balanced and refreshing, but also has some character.
