(Bottle 50 cl) This really is a Hefe with it’s own character and personality. Almost reddish brown in colour with a tall and handsome head. Vinous, slightly vinegary tartness in the nose. Typical fresh fruitiness with a soft, wheaty touch. An interesting Hefe. 180101

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes orange-goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, würzig. Geschmack hefig fruchtig, reife Bananen, leicht würzig.

Draft at Bamberger Weissbierhaus during the Bamberg Jolly. Pours cloudy, rich gold with a frothy, white head. Classic stuff. Rich ripe banana character, yeasty wheat bread, light clove. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, with hefty wheat bread, further rich banana. Good stuff.

Hazy orange with a big and lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, a little banana and yeasty. Flavor is rather sweet. the finish is ever so lightly acidic. Soft, smooth and refreshing. A great hefeweizen and one of my favorites on a warm summer day. 040909

500ml bottle at 5.4% from beersofeurope.co.uk. I thought this was a rather unusual hefe. For a start, its rather darker than the norm - a rather murky amber colour. The head dispersed very quickly. There are some banana esters in the aroma, but its quite restrained. I didn’t pick up much in the way of spices. The flavour is more citric than usual with an underlying sharp acidity, although it finishes up quite sweet. Quite yeasty and there’s also an unexpected touch of malt there too. Light mouthfeel. A pleasant, refreshing, but hardly exuberant wheat beer.

Süß hefiger Antrunk, vollmundig. Im Mittelteil flacht die Hefe ab und wird durch herbe Noten ersetzt. Würzig, dezent malzig. Dazu fruchtig. Ein rundes gutes Weizen! 8/9/9/10/9/11

Clean copper color. Strong spicy aroma, fruity (banana), a bit metallic. Some sweetness, spiciness, but again the metallic touch.

Tap at the Seven Stars, Rugby, 24/07/13. Have had this in Bayreuth but as always there’s a first time to actually rate it ! Dark orange amber with a moderately sized off white head. Nose is banana, light yeast, toffee, banoffee pie, sugars. Taste follows, light spice, toffee, nana, cloves. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with a little spritz. Solid weisse and put the UK cask beers in this pub to shame in terms of delivering both flavour and refreshment.

Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are yeast, fruits, wheat malt and hops.

harrisoni (19348) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2006
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2014 Cask handpull at Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool. Dirty cloudy orange gold colour. More cloves than some weiss with a touch of banana and bubblegum. Even a touch of smoke. Otherwise a tad watery and a tad lifeless and thin 2.8 re rate golden lion pub in Bayreuth. Esters on aroma. A standard weisse but decent and solid. Pleasant and drinkable.
