33 cl bottle. Hazy honey gold color. Small creamy white head. Fruity malt nose has apricot notes. Effervescent, fruity, yeasty malt flavor upfront. Tart, fruity notes bring to mind apricot and melon. Syrupy sweet, candy-like tendencies. Boozy, dryish hoppy notes in finish. Intersecting if not interesting. maekchu (4024) - Hirakata, JAPAN - AUG 27, 2017
Bomber. Thanks to KyotoLefty. Nose of zesty fruit, peaches, apples, light esters, and honey. Lightly hazy blond color, creamy white head, and thick lace. Smooth initial, with very sweet stone fruit, a bit sugary, and some late bitterness to balance. Medium body, with light effervescent carbonation. Consistently smooth, with rich flavors. Bottle. Unclear golden color with big creamy white head that goes down comparably quickly. Aroma is flowery, fruit esters, fresh yeast, honey, comparably complex, but accessible nonetheless. Taste is honey, estery, some overripe apricots with alcohol, nearly liqueur-like. Warming finish, high carbonation (but not too high), foamy soft mouthfeel. Among the most Belgian things ever, but it totally works! Much better than expected. FunkyF (1290) - Örebro, SWEDEN - AUG 19, 2017
Flaska från Belgoklubben. Ljust gul med vitt skum. Söt och lite kryddig doft med banan. Limpa, banan och alkohol i smaken. Cristobal37 (1200) - Budapest, HUNGARY - AUG 9, 2017
Hazy gold, bigg head. Fragrant aroma with some minty spices and flowers. Malt forward with a refined balance, very clean. Lots of carbonation. Wee bit of booze in the finish, but not unrefined (it is 10% after all). A great belgian ale. Straight forward and simple. I recall the biere brut from Malheur and this serves as a great base for the much more complex champagne yeast infused version. Nevertheless it’s really balanced and well done.

Such a pleasure... That’s what a Belgian strong ale is supposed to be. Deep, without compromises and having an aftertaste you can’t forget. That being said, if you’re familiar with the St. Bernardus tripel, this one is very close, perhaps a bit better but not by much. Alcohol level is quite high, present in mouth, but not overwhelming and pleasant. Deep taste, quite similar to many other Belgian ones but much more complex in mouth. This is a real beer. This is the real deal. APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!
