3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The light smell of yeast, a little bit sweet, a rather light aroma for a beer with 10 % ABV. It has a rather small white creamy head with a normal duration. The body is cloudy and orange. The first taste is light bitter, then it gets a little bit more sour and fruity with a quite long duration. The body is medium, dry and fizzy with a lot of carbonation. That’s a nice Malheur...
Such a pleasure... That’s what a Belgian strong ale is supposed to be. Deep, without compromises and having an aftertaste you can’t forget. That being said, if you’re familiar with the St. Bernardus tripel, this one is very close, perhaps a bit better but not by much. Alcohol level is quite high, present in mouth, but not overwhelming and pleasant. Deep taste, quite similar to many other Belgian ones but much more complex in mouth. This is a real beer. This is the real deal. APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW! kapusta (114) - Browns Summit, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2017
33cl bottle compliments of Matt Lucatamo at State Line Liquors. Pours cloudy golden yellow with thin layer of brown sediment at bottom of glass. Aroma is apples, cotton candy, pears, slight yeast. Taste is sweet, candy sugar, pears, maybe some clove cool-minty notes? Pleasant notes of dry hopping to balance the sweetness and body. Fantastic brew, perfection. Bottle 33cl. Yellow with a fluffy white head. Medium carbonation. Aroma of malts, fruits (lemon?). The taste is quite bitter with a dryness that gets stronger in the aftertaste. Oddskulle (33) - - MAY 31, 2017
Gold and strong beer, nice foamy presentation, I taste sweet and sourintentions, a bit of malt, a small honeytaste wich is not dominant, dry aftertaste.
for me, it misses a strong taste in order to rate it better. I would drink it when I need a refreshing strong beer.

5th-or-so time I’m having this one. Drinking it a bit too cold though (around 5°C). Nice hazy straw yellow body with very thin bubbles. Aroma is very citrus-like, also malts and banana are present, but to a lesser extent. Taste a bit sugary - but pleasant - in combination with malts and hops and yeast. Very balanced.
