In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

(Drinking date: 10 March 2014) Clear golden coloured beer with a big layer of foam which disappears quickly. Nice fresh aroma of yeast and fruit, and unfortunately a bit of metal. Nice hoppy bitterness in the taste, but also a bit of that metal taste unfortunately. Also a bit dried fruits in the taste. There is also a bit of a sweetness present. The beer is really refreshing. The mouthfeel is good, and the carbonation just a little bit too much. I enjoyed this beer, but it is not one of the best blonde beers. But it is still good though! That’s why I give it the total score of 3.5

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, leicht würzig. Geschmack leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, Gewürze, blumig.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. Drukket hjemme 16 Jun 13. Veldig lys gylden. Litt uklar. Lavt skum som flater helt ut. Svakt fruktig aroma. Smaken er vassen. Litt krydder - ellers lite. Litt for mye kullsyre. Kjedelig.

Tough Yeasty aroma, some port hint... taste has some tropical fruit.. bitter sour taste, harsh carbs ... long yeasty finish

Bottle. Clear golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of bread, white pepper, bubblegum, dried fruit, flour and earth. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of bread, grain, dried fruit and earth. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not that nice.

Plovmand (8266) - Helsinge, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2014
Bottle. Pours mostly clear golden with a frothy white head. The aroma is citrus, malt, zest and light spice. The flavor is malty and citrussy with light yeasty notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear pale colour. Nice pale malty nose with belgy yeasty flavours, some honey, and a good touch of nobles. Mouth filling soft body. Pale smooth malts, not grainy/crackery in any way. This is pretty much how a lighter (6) belgian ale should be like. Good pale malty flavours, good mellow yeasty esters. Lively flavours. This is just nice.

Duft av hvete og litt sitron. Dunkel gul farge. Tynt lag skum. Smak av hvete med en litt syrlig sitron smak.

On 25 cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Stovner, on order. Golden color, good foam. some sediments. Nice soft carbonation. Aromas of fruits, honey and nice yeast influence. Medium body & complexity. Some sweetness, well balanced. enjoyable

Xenomorph (62) - Sundgau, FRANCE - DEC 5, 2013
Mousse peu épaisse et persistance courte. Belle couleur jaune paille. Nez agréable et fruité. Entrée de bouche légèrement amère et citronnée. Manque un peu de caractère sur la fin de bouche. Bière équilibré et agréable.
