COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

Bottled sample via lubiere. Blond in colour with a bit of haze and strong carbonation. Aromas are of pilsner malts, damp earth, yeast and mild sweet citrus. Sweetish pilsner malts and apricot lead the way in the mouth along with notes of herbal+earthy hops, wildflower honey and spicy yeast. Light bodied fruity finish. Fading a bit, but some life left. Not bad overall

TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 25, 2007
Bottle at the Waterhuis bar in Ghent (Belgium), amber with a white foamy head. A sweet malt aroma with some earthy ground spices. Complex flavours, both sweet malt and peppery, on a smooth palate.

Bottle. Foggy golden-yellow with a small, white, creamy head. Aroma has soap, spices, and cookies. Slightly watery soft texture. Cookies and yeast flavour dominate but there is a sure lack of complexity. Finishes quickly with green leafy hop bitterness.

adasko (2207) - Poznan, POLAND - JAN 2, 2015
Aromat słodko kwaskowy, z typowymi nutami belgijskimi, delikatnie słodowy, owocowy i kwiatowy. Barwa blado złota. Piwo mętne, mała ale bardzo ładna piana. W smaku typowy belgian ale. Słodowy, nieco owocowy. Maleńka goryczka pojawia sięw posmaku. Dość wysoko nasycone - szczypie w ustach, orzeźwiające, pomimo nasycenia jednak dość gładkie.

Russo (2012) - Hemhofen, GERMANY - AUG 4, 2013
Tried at Anders Bier festival in Tongeren. Pale orange beer, nice white creamy head that disappear slowly. Aroma is grainy, malty. Flavor is quite sweet, with some hints of malt and yeast. Mouthfeel is low carbonation, light to medium body. Ive got a little bit disappointed after try the Malheur 10! :/
