COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

A decent ale in its class. Blond and refreshening, has the potential to become a standard.

Pours hazy amber with a small lasting head. Nose shows doughy yeast and loads of herbal funky notes. A bit weird. Some hints of spices. Similar herbal notes follow through as flavours alongside the doughy Belgian yeast and soft phenols. Carbonation is pretty high, unnecessarily so.

bottle at home ... golden yellow ... big bubbly white head ... soft grassy yeasy hop nose ... banana and light salty hop flavour ... light dry yeast ... soft fruits ... ok... but not exciting me.

250 ml bottle.
Pours a golden colour with a large white small head. Aroma of light spices, honey and herbs. Flavour of light spices such as cinnamon, sweet toffee, malts, herbs and mild dark fruits. Medium bodied, high carbonation and a sweet, fruity, slightly warming finish. Too sweet but pretty straightforward and well done.

Palme (4780) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 22, 2013
0.25l bottle. This is a near clear, light blurry golden one with a big lasting white top. It smells really classic Belgian this. Belgian yeast, bright candied sugar, green sweet apples, something almost herbal and traces of some canned fruit-juice. Really lightdrinkable, somewhat fruit-sour sweet like glucose. It has a average+ carbonation level and a light oily mouthfeel. Again some light apply thing in the taste with hints of canned peaches. It’s actually not all that exciting his, but it’s not totally boring either. Just a bit generic perhaps? Lightdrinkable and definitely a Belgian taste over it. 16.05.2013

From bottle at a tasting at Bar & Cigar. Almost clear golden with a white head. Fairly mild fruity and yeasty aroma with spices, malt and hints of hops. Moderate sweet, yeasty and fruity with some acidity and bitterness. Well balanced. Nice and easy drinkable Belgian ale.

adasko (2232) - Poznan, POLAND - JAN 2, 2015
Aromat słodko kwaskowy, z typowymi nutami belgijskimi, delikatnie słodowy, owocowy i kwiatowy. Barwa blado złota. Piwo mętne, mała ale bardzo ładna piana. W smaku typowy belgian ale. Słodowy, nieco owocowy. Maleńka goryczka pojawia się w posmaku. Dość wysoko nasycone - szczypie w ustach, orzeźwiające, pomimo nasycenia jednak dość gładkie.

nathanvc (449) - Brugge, BELGIUM - SEP 10, 2016
Pours hazy yellow with a frothy white head. The aroma contains grass, yeast, citrus, hops and some other fruits. It tastes medium sweet and medium bitter, towards a dry and spicy finish, but balanced by the citric undertone. Medium body, soft carbonation. Decent enough in style, but not as tasty as the big brothers.
