A new single hopped beer, using Calypso hops from the USA. This beer is pale blonde with tropical fruits aroma, and hints of bananas and lychees. The taste is resin bitter and a long grapefruit citrus finish!

Towey1989 (3565) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2017
Cask at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A clear pale golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, some orchard fruits and subtle earthy hops. Taste of grapefruit, orchard fruits, some herb and slight earthy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, citrus and earthy hop bitterness in the finish. A very hop forward pale. Quite dry with citrus, fruit and earthy flavours throughout. Like a little bit more balance but otherwise for its strength it’s very good.

BlackHaddock (8097) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2017
Cask, half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates Shropshire on 6th Apr 2017. Light golden pour, clean, bright and clear, white crown on top. Typical Mallinsons citrusy brew, subtle differences in which citrus fruit comes to the fore, grapefruit seemed to win in this beer.

tommann (4093) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2017
Cask at the Waggon & Horses, Halesowen. Pours dark gold with a small head. Aroma is sweet grass and hop oils. Taste is mostly grass. Light bitter grassy finish with a touch of lime.

Bottle. Hazy golden body with lots of yeast flecks and a thin white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of Crunchy Nut, lemon, peanuts and lavender. Flavour of grapefruit, cherry tomatoes and green banana. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Light fizz. Ugly and quite soapy.

Cask @ The Cellar, Chester [011215]
Light blonde, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft citrus, light pale malt, soft grapefruit
Taste of nice bitter zest, fruity grapefruit, nice clean pale malt background, really good flavour
Palate - Light body, bit oily, nice bitter zest, good bitter sweet balance, clean palate. Finish of fresh lingering bitter zest, just right.
Overall - Mallinsons are just great at making these light pale hopped beers. Quaffable, easy, good flavour.

500ml bottle from Beer Ritz. Hazy yellow, massive foamy head. Cereal, grain & citrus fruit aroma. Grapefruit & tropical fruit flavour. Very bitter citrus aftertaste. Very bitter pale ale. Nice one.

zacgillbanks (5737) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2015
4.0% ABV bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Pale straw coloured pouring with a large white foamy head. It has a tropical fruit and grapefruit flavour followed by a smooth sharply bitter finish. Very bitter and nice for a low-ish ABV beer.

DruncanVeasey (8607) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 26, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2018 1) Bottle from Beer Gonzo, NYE 2014. Brilliant gold whipped hugely with a meringue head. Red apple, melon, passion fruit and freshly zested lemon mousse nose. Abrasively bitter with huge tonic, grapefruit, soapy lavender, deep grassiness and perfume, bitter bitter pine and resins. Little gnaw of background chaff and nut husk. Punishing and aromatic. 2) Euston Tap 2, 02/04/17. Bright foaming diaphanous gold. Disappointing grassy nothing but bitterness and a shave of mediocre lemon. Hint of mint. Growing on me with its simplicity. Aroma of lemon and grass. Bit disappointing. But still love Mallinsons. 747414.
