COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: Previously known as Huvila Oak Porter

Really good Finnish porter, roasted malts, well balanced hops and nice unique spicy hint apparently from the oak.

Bottle from Alko, Keminmaa. Oak Porter is part of the series of Finnish craft beers spring 2013. Opaque black beer with small off-white head. Wooden aroma has coffee and vanilla. Taste has oak wood, roasted malts, bourbon and some licorice. Palate is a bit on the thin side. Enjoyable.

Marstonlad (955) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 15, 2013
Bottle from Alko. Pours black with a medium-sized head that disappears completely in a while. Aroma has a strong malty presence with chocolate, some roasty notes and vanilla. Taste has some sweetness but roasted maltiness is more prominent. Vanilla and woody notes add variance nicely to the usual flavours of chocolate and coffee. Palate is smooth, medium to full bodied - excellent mouthfeel . Hops don’t feature much but that is hardly surprising. This was a delicious beer, different but equally good with Malmgård’s X-Porter from which this was brewed.

Bottled. One word: delicious! Dark chocolate but a dominant coffee aroma and taste. I like that. Alcohol present, but not disturbing.

Turboninja (849) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 20, 2013
Aroma is well balanced with the taste: lightly roasted malts with a considerable amount of other flavors like licorice, coffee and vanilla. Appearance dark brown with light brown, middle height head. Taste very well balanced and organic with wide taste spectrum. Flavors as mentioned above. Especially roasted flavors are not too dominant: a big plus from that. Otherwise very textbook-like porter with no own nuances/specialties. Palate could be a bit thicker. Adequate carbonation.

Pitch black beer with a thin mocha, dark beige head. Looks very nice. Roastiness on the nose. Sweet baltic porter, coffee roast, medium bitter finish, very balanced, wood notes. Mouth feel is medium bodied, slick, slightly leathery. This is actually very solid and good porter. Very very nice indeed.
