75 cl bottle. Pours cloudy deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is dense basil, light soapy and toasted malty. Smooth caramelish, dry and yes, herbal. Bottle 75 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a tiny, white head. Distinct basil aroma combined with some Belgian yeast and alcohol. Rich body, sweet fruitiness, quite malty - and almost entirely flat. The herbal basil accents are pretty strong while the Brett doesn’t really come through. Ends dry and astringent with a somewhat chemical note. Goes down though. 101213

Draught @ All In Beer Fest 2013. Pours tiny hazy amber with a small offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is malty, phenolic and herbal with bread, bandaids, peach flavoured gummi candy, Thai basil, barnyard, dry soil, hay, lemon zest and peppermint. Tasty is malty, funky and herbal with bread, moist wood, bandaids, barnyard, Thai basil, hay, dry soil, lemon zest and hints of unripe tropical fruits. Mouthfeel is round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is malty, funky, phenolic and herbal with bread, barnyard, dry soil, hay, lemon zest, bandaids and Thai basil. Clear light amber with a small white head. Aroma and taste of malt, spices, basil, yeast, light brett and some wood. Well hidden alcohol, low bitterness. The finish was dry. Descent stuff. I wonder how this will develop with a year or two?

Hazy dull amber color with small head. The aroma is herbal, vaguely minty (same family as the Thai basil). Soft mouthfeel with low carbonation; it’s served just a bit too warm; it has some malt flavor with some basil presence, light acidity, but not really a Brett character, it picked some wood nevertheless; ordinary bitterness; it also has a moderate residual sweetness.
Like the base version, not an impressive combination.
Big bottle @All In Beerfest. Clear golden beer with little head. Aroma and taste of sweet liquorice, stimorol, basil, spicy, floral, lemon, vinous, funky, salmiac, faint brett notes, mint and figs. Should be better with some age
