Cloudy dark amber with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and prunes. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel and prunes. Finished sweet.

Chestnut, red highlights; amberish head. Dark chocolate malts nose, sweet, and traces of diacetyl. Dry, sherry-ish taste, with dark malts to the fore, chocolate, leafy, faintly herbal. Slick, well-bodied, notable alcohol-warming. Good experiment, even if I cannot trace its specific components. I want more of those around, beats some established Italian microbrews with a lot of fame. Grazie, Lorenzo.

Deep amber-brown beer, tending to black with some ruby highlights. Aroma is quite rich and malty with a heavy plummy/pruny sweetness. Some lightly fruity vineousness. Light strawberry and molasses. Flavour is quite nice, light cocoa, herbal chocolate and a soft grassy hoppiness. Lightly vineous but well-attenuated. As it warms it gets a bit chewier. Lightly earthy with a bit of leathery character. Lingering peppery spiciness. It’s pretty decent really.

On tap @ Max’s Taproom Baltimore. Labeled as a Double Malted Stout. Pours a clody reddish brown with creamy head. Some dried friut (Apricot, pineapple) ?, sugary, nougat, milky way sorto of thing, malted milk balls. First Italian made stout & not too bad

Suttree (6358) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 3, 2008
Deep brown, almost black. Thin dense head. Smells like pineapple, ginger. Very bready flavor, like pumpernickel, maybe, and hints of fruit and tobacco and leather and maybe fig, or maybe some chocolate. Flavor is not nearly as fruity as the aroma. Maybe some port or sherry as it warms. Rated on port 82. Am I the only one here?

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 12, 2008
Pours brown with a decent tan head. Smell is dominated by spice, raisins, caramel, molasses. Tastes sweet with a nutty finish.

Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 5, 2005
Brown colour with a baige head. Sweet light alcoholic chocolat aroma and taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

dwyerpg (6054) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 16, 2009
Smells like caramel and rye. Wow. This tastes like a combination of dried apricots, dried pineapple, some malt. Crazy fruity, but with a flavor that isn’t bad. Too expensive, but otherwise I totally enjoyed this.
