Yes a hoppy lager. Quaffable. Can from a Quebec trading partner. Its good, but neither here nor there in style. Taste like a lot of other beers from the region.

Can. traded this for a pmb and a kiss to Stoned99 thx mate. A: loads of resinous hops supported by some tropical fruits, citrusy too. App: hazy light copper with smallish white head. T/p: med body with short to moderate long bitter finish. Moderate carbonation. O: Maltsrom really brew solid beers. This is a decadent hoppy creation. I’m a little sissy so, I prefer the original over this but that’s no true reproach.

My Bottom Line:
Portentous grassy resins and alcohol heat are embellished by tropical fruit notes throughout this rich Double IPL.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the haziest yellow.
-This is a huge hop bomb for lovers of excess. Drinkability isn’t as high as their regular IPL’s, to say the least.
-The aromas on their hoppy beers are particularly successful.
-While this remains a very good hoppy brew, I will always get their IXPL instead.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2017 Gold pour, mega sized pillowy white head. Whoa, that’s one fruity aroma! Mango, pineapple, guava, citrus zest. Fruit forward taste (see aforementioned, I’m being lazy). Fairly bitter, dank finish. Kinda reminds me of a Jack’s Abbey beer.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 can courtesy of sir huxalot, many thanks bro! pours hazy and almost cloudy light yellow with a small white bubbly cap offering some retention and lacing. juicy tropical fruits - mangoes, guavas, passionfruits, name it; bubblegum yet never phenolic - just a fruit overload; soft and tender resins, spicy and zesty citrus, candied grapefruit, clean discreet yet doughy/juicy maltiness, honey and flowers; super-duper clean yeast action with obvious lagering notes even with this fragrance load. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily; smooth, warming, juicy and balanced tropical-citrusy finish. an exceptional/exquisite strong hoppy lager, neipa style.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2017 New rating: Latest batch is way less easier to drink. Seems like Citra (cat pee) is too powerful even though this is supposed to be focused on Galaxy hops. Also it feels really big. It’s still really good but I much prefer IXPL over this one. old rating: 473ml bought by brother at brewery a few days ago served in Teku, no need for a lager glass ;) . Aroma: nice green hops. Dank tropical fruits, nectarine seeds and other citrus, pineapples on a nice cereal backbone. App: hazy orange, medium white head leaving great lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, moderate carbonation, juicy and resinous, alcohol and dry moderate bitter finish. Overall: damn good. I think I prefer IXPl over this one but this is definitely in another league like almost everything I’ve had from them. Drinkability is dangerously high despite its alcohol. I could drink this every day. Not bad for a lager ;)

50cl Can, tfs JulienHuxley! Hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, dank hop juice, citrus, tropical fruits, passionfruit, zest, resin, some pine. Flavour is medium sweet to sweet, malty, very hoppy, dank, citrus, resin, bitter finish. Medium bodied. IXPL was world class, this is ’just’ very good.

PotjeBier (3914) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 5, 2017
Can with JulienHuxley & Borresteijn, tfs Julien! Pours a murky yellow color. White head with some retention. Aroma’s: citrus, tropical fruit, resin, weed. Retronasal it’s citrus, resin, dank. Flavor is moedretae to full bitter, with some citrussy sourness. Medium bodied. Long finish packed with hops, but not extremely bitter. More lovely stuff!
