3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I liked this beer alot
It was only like $4 a 22oz bottle for me
but it had a nice taste and aroma and wonderful kick
From old tasting notes. Pale yellow gold color. Lots of bubbles. Sweet winey malt aroma. Tasty fruity malt flavor hints at toaste bread. Decent body and flavor. Light herbal hop finish. BreweryWhisperer31 (1) - - FEB 2, 2017 does not count
This was one of my favorite beers back in the late 90’s. I was so sad to see it go. From what I know, it is no longer available.

bouteille brune, j’ai vue de bière blonde au Canada pas mal pire que cette lager blonde classique, sans grande distinction mais très rafraichissante. agréable. bprender (1) - USA - MAY 17, 2008 does not count
Found a bottle of this in my mail room at 2 in the morning. Drank it the next night. Poured the bottle into two different glasses. One for me, one for a friend. My glass was a lighter, dark amber. It had black chunks floating in it. His was a darker, almost brown color. From the same bottle! Very strange. Tasted decent though. It did the job... reber (3) - USA - NOV 12, 2007 does not count
First off, this beer rocks. It’s nice and refreshing, with good citrus and malt flavors, comes in a big thirst quenching bottle, and the label is just tough. One of the finest malt liquors I’ve had, which is saying a lot, as nearly all malt liquor commonly available is terrible. Secondly, this rating is from memory, as I haven’t seen the beer in the last 10 years. The reason is that the beer has been off the market. There was a slight disturbance in Ivory Coast, not sure if ya’ll heard about that commotion. They stopped making it, and the distrib in Houston bought the trademark. So, you guys reviewing in the 2000’s are either artfully examining some 10 year old dreck discovered in the back of a wholesaler’s dusty warehouse, or someone is producing an unauthorized fake. Either that, or the brewery came back with new distrib and hasn’t told the old distrib! Enjoy!

Appearance: clear yellow, whispy head,
Aroma: sweet malt aroma,
Flavor: flavor has a touch of halatar (?) hops, some malty sweetness with lots of hop bitterness
Aroma: 5/10; Appearance: 2/10; Flavor: 2/10; Palate: 2/10; Overall: 5/20
The score was calculated based upon the notes and an old scoring system.
Purchased at Hall’s, Colleyville Tx. Agree with everyone’s comments so far about this being better than expected, I really thought it’d be a drain pour. Clear gold pour, soft white head, fully receding. All malt aroma, some barely detectable lemon peel and orange, nothing offensive at all. Tastes much the same, but the alcohol is far too apparent. Finishes fairly clean, a little fusel alcohol clinging on. Palate thin, not much of a surprise there, but it made for an easygoing quaff. Not too shabby. UPDATED: AUG 26, 2006 Big Bottle. Poured light golden in color with tall (quickly dissipating) white head. What aroma was there was weak and a bit skunky. Nice beer considering. Malty and sweet with a bit of bitterness thanks to the above average level of carbonation. Probably won’t have it again. Old rating from way back. Pours dull and lifeless, with yellow food coloring and high carbonation. Flavor is typical skunk lager, with sour malt and lifeless hops. However, unlike most malt liquor/lagers, it’s not terrible. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2005
Bottle. Not much to say about this one. Really not much going on here. Like the last reviewer stated, this tastes like a typical US malt liquor, which is a style I don’t particularly care for.
