An ode to the Owens Valley and the Highway 395 corridor, this Double IPA is distinctly bolder than out Epic IPA and celebrates the aromas of wild local fresh hops, sage, and juniper.

Bottle shared by drsordr in Reno. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has big herbal notes of juniper and sage with some caramel malts. The flavor has more juniper and sage herbal character, caramel malt, grass; not a normal dipa. Certainly worth trying.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared as a medium amber hue that created a thick foam cap head which eventually retreats. Aroma is strange with a funky combination of green hop pellets and a slight whiff of peppermint similar to a broken York candy. Possible chance of alcohol comes through the nose as well but the smell of this beer is not to my liking. The drink is just the same except the malts seem to outweigh the hops used in this IPA with a sweet and bread like flavor but the sharp bitterness of the hops used really stabs the bitter taste buds on my tongue and I mean this in very bad way. This is an IPA I would trash during a conversation about IPAs made in California but thats just my honest opinion since I found little satisfaction while drinking this.

Bottle at Craft Beer Clerkenwell thanks to Ken, 09/03/13. Clear golden amber with a medium sized off white cap. Nose is hops, sugars, herbal qualities, spice rack, thyme, lemon. Taste comprises hops, pine, caramel malt, grapefruit, toffee. Full end of medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitterness and spice in the finish. Good stuff.

50cl bottle at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Ken. It pours a very deep amber/orange with nice off-white head. Sweet malt, floral hops, grapefruit, strong juniper berries, sage. Interesting and full bodied, but you need to like sage and juniper. This was quite in your face.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thank you Ken! Pours red-gold with a fine, creamy white head. Spicy pine in the nose, hints of ginger. Medium to big sweet flavor, lots of toasty, bready malts, hints of dry brown sugar. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately resinous to finish, some juicy berriea, bitter pine, sweet bread. Not bad.

From a bottle and a nice dark amber color for this double IPA.Poured with a nice head .I thought the spruce is most prominment and thr jupiter berries...either way there is a lot of hop flavor to this beer regsrdless to the extras ingredients.

Reddish orange in unfiltered hue with a finger of head. Big boy aromas of dank hops, summer sage, and something that reminds me of gingersnap cookies. Medium boy, creamy and smooth, with a nice oatmeal cookie malt backbone and a resinous bite of hop bitterness. The sage is very present with just a hint of juniper. Everything is fantastic until the finish where the sage lends an astringent smack of bitter polyphenols that dont want to let go of my tongue. A little sharp cheddar would clear this problem right up. If you like aggressive hops, youll most likely love this. I would prefer a little more malt sweetness.
