Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle tasting. Opaque dark brown - black beer, good dark tan head. Airy palate, semi dry with good super fine carbonation. Good rich dark malts, but delivered in a wonderfully light way. Good dark chocolate and mild roast. Mildly tangy coffee. Airy finish with a trace of nuts. A very light Imperial Stout that doesn’t compromise on flavour.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown/black with an exceedingly dark 3 finger frothy/creamy tan head. Aroma is super smooth dark chocolate with vanilla notes. Full bodied and creamy. Flavor is a rotating mix of smooth burnt malt, oak, vanilla and something beyond that that seems to be alcohol/bourbon. It’s not dry. But there’s so much flavor that it all works. I am stunned. Scopey (14723) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2014
