On tap. Pours a deep brown color with a small light tan head that falls to a ring. Piny and hoppy in the nose with lingering hints of roasted malts and char. Bitter and piny up front with some sticky resin and a touch of citrus fruit. Light sweetness before the malty backbone kicks in. Roasted malts and charred hints with some caramel and chocolate. Fresh cut fries with smoked paprika aioli? What bar doesnt have that on its menu!? Anyway....Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is burnt/roasty with some spicy grapefruit notes. Flavor is pleasantly hoppy with floral citrus/spice notes atop chocolate...nice burnt/bitterness. Mouthfeel is light/medium with a roasty burnt/bitter finish. Tap at Standard Pint. Pour is clear cola, pretty deep with fluffy tan foam. Good lacing. Roasty and musty nose with some soil and wet earth. Taste is dirty, a bit gritty, lots of soil. Palate is tangy, potting soil. Eh.

Draft at winners circle. Pours dark brown with some light coming through. aroma is mostly pine with some citrus and smoke. The taste is medium bitter with some light smoke on the finish.

GABF 2010, darker pour. lots of roastiness in both the aroma & flavor. Big bitter hop presence to boot. Well blended & quite flavorful. Medium to fuller mouthfeel. Solid Black IPA, of which there seemed to be a ton of these @ GABF this year
