On tap at the philly brewpub. IPA floral hop aroma. Clear reddish orange in color. Alky flavors greet the taste buds. This is listed as an amber, but I bet it would qualify as an IPA in many beer rating circles. Ooooh boy, quite bitter. However, the bitterness does not hang as with IPA, it seems to be a bit more controlled with manners. Very little carbonation. Quite strong hops. Alky finish on the palate for a while. You know you are drinking a beer with ABV near 7%. DocLock (11048) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2006
This was a nice beer. The color was ruby/coppery. The aroma was of buttery caramel malt, fruit (berries, melon), and some red wine. The flavor was very fruity, with a semi-sweet red wine element coupled with more fruit as it warmed. Medium palate heft. This is a very unique, and refreshing style. Try this with strawberry shortcake for a nice treat.
