Draft at Craft Ale House (and yes I double checked the beer). The pour was turbid dull muddy brown with minimal off-white head. Nose was funky yeasty malt, dark fruit, hops. Tasted like a Belgian quad, with fruity yeasty rock sugary malt, mid-palate fruit, mild finishing hops, and a high complexity level. From a growler from Whole Foods. Pours a dark brown with a ton of fluffy head. The head sticks around a few minutes but eventually dissipates, leaving mild lacing. Aroma of funk and brown sugar. Very good and light mouthfeel. I like how it isn’t too heavy for a dubble. Candy sugar, light hops, Belgian yeast taste. One thing that isn’t present is alcohol. I have a VERY hard time believing this is almost 10%... It drinks waaaaaaaaaay to easily for that. Too light bodied, not sweet enough and there’s just no alcohol taste... Either way, a very good beer. Glad I got the growler to myself!
