Decent for what they were copying. Medium brown with even haze. Light sweet, but not full. Too watery for what the style requires. Tap can8ianben (1577) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 14, 2013
The one I was most looking forward to... wish it had been better. High carbonation and the same acidic quality I found in Yunkelweizen. More sweetness - dried fruit - and a darker color. This was better, but still not what I had hoped for. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 12, 2013
Pours light amber with thin off-white head and minimal lace. Nose of raisin, caramel, pepper, banana. Medium body, slightly sticky. Not too boozy for the abv. callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2013
Dark amber, medium off-white head, spotty lacing. Dark fruits, winter spices from the yeast, a bit sweet, medium bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering finish.

On tap at brewery. Dark copper color with minimal head. Aroma is light flavor of fruit, toffee and some alcohol. A bit flat which minimizes hops against malt. alobar (3914) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2012

Draft at Craft Ale House (and yes I double checked the beer). The pour was turbid dull muddy brown with minimal off-white head. Nose was funky yeasty malt, dark fruit, hops. Tasted like a Belgian quad, with fruity yeasty rock sugary malt, mid-palate fruit, mild finishing hops, and a high complexity level. This one was very good. dagimp (1008) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2010
From a growler from Whole Foods. Pours a dark brown with a ton of fluffy head. The head sticks around a few minutes but eventually dissipates, leaving mild lacing. Aroma of funk and brown sugar. Very good and light mouthfeel. I like how it isn’t too heavy for a dubble. Candy sugar, light hops, Belgian yeast taste. One thing that isn’t present is alcohol. I have a VERY hard time believing this is almost 10%... It drinks waaaaaaaaaay to easily for that. Too light bodied, not sweet enough and there’s just no alcohol taste... Either way, a very good beer. Glad I got the growler to myself!
