COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewery Het Anker decided to brew an easy drinkable city beer for the Mechelenians, still peppy enough in order to enjoy it to the fullest. We brew a heroic beer called Maneblusser. It’s a blond beer with an alcohol percentage of 5.8% vol. in which you can taste a subtle citrus aroma and a fine finish. Maneblusser is brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation with refermentation in the bottle.

The inspiration for this brew originates in the night of January 27th in the year 1687. The moon projected its reddish glow on Saint Rumbold’s tower, which was wrapped in a dense fog. “Fire, fire, the tower is on fire!” shouts the dreary voice of a drunken man. The alarm was sounded and people were making haste to help extinguish the so-called fire. Before the tower was reached, the moon slowly moved through the fog. From that moment on, the Mechelenians are called the Maneblussers or “Moonextinguishers”.

Pale cloudy golden color with a large white head. Sugar and apple sweetness on the nose with a subtle spice note and a fair amount of yeast. Light bread, some floral hops, and a hint of lemon zest. Lightly tart on the palate from the lemon notes. A nice pear, apple, and banana sweetness along with some sugar and bready malt.

bottle from supermarket,
Decent, average belgian ale with flavor profile of slightly dark malts touch and peppery-phenolic yeast. Medium+ dry finish, medium+ body, light lasing. Still very drinkable. Color - amber to brown.

rumore (521) - Rimini, ITALY - JUL 15, 2017
From a 33cl bottle. Pours a slightly opaque gold with medium-high white foam, scarcely persistent. Aroma is rich in esters, giving a fruity feeling. Body is fairly dense, and highly carbonated. Taste is sweet and a little spicy, not really interesting. Finish is not good, as the beer also seems to leave kind of a sandy feeling.

Lore (2733) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 3, 2017
hazy golden colour, huge amount of yeast particles and large dense white head; aroma of apricot, coriander, orange zest and lemony notes, as well as candy sugar and earthy notes; taste is the same with some spicy peppery aftertaste; not bad at all!

Bottle. Golden with a clear appearance and small head. Slightly bitter medium body. A bit too sharp for me but still quite drinkable.

Drank with Rik 23-06-17. Like a normal Belgian blond. Nothing special. Some freshness.

Aroma:
Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, fruit, grain and spices.

Appearance:
Clear/hazy yellow/golden beer with medium yeast and with a slight/medium white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, Belgian yeast and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with grain and spices.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Really simple Belgian Ale that is mostly? saved thanks to that beautiful Anker yeast. Way too clear in terms of appearance for my liking.

33 cl [email protected] in large tulip [email protected] 7 degrees C. Pours an almost clear golden with a large white head of small bubbles with excellent retention. Malty aroma spiced by exotic fruit and the slightest hint of hoppiness and yeast. Dry, fruity and quite hoppy, but wonderfully balanced taste with a long, dark hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste, which just lingers for a long time. Effervescent mouthfeel as with Belgian beer when it at it’s best. Reminded me of a masculine version Skands Humlefryd. Really enjoyed this and will be back for more.
