Typical working man’s club beer, which I drank in a typical WMC. Decent looking brown/red body, with a touch of yellowish head. Fairly thin. Nose is good, and typical brown ale, with some red and darker fruit. Taste faded a bit. Towey1989 (2917) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 2, 2015
Bottle. Pours a deep brown colour with a foamy tan head. Aroma of caramel, some toasted malts, slight dark fruits, subtle molasses and cola. Taste of caramel, cola, some toasted malts, a little chocolate, slight dark fruits and subtle yeast. Light bodied but a watery texture and moderate carbonation. A sweet, caramel with a soft toasty bitterness in the finish. Definitely a sweet beer, like drinking a cola with a subtle bitterness. It’s ok but thin and lacks depth. Bottle @ THT August, courtesy of Scotty001. Pours a cola brown beer with a very small beige head on top. Aroma of light roast, coffee and not much else. Flavor is watery, light sweet, malty and really not all that special. Very short and watery aftertaste. Meh. Scotty001 (565) - Portlethen, SCOTLAND - AUG 21, 2015
Poured deep dark brown, disappearing beige head. Aroma of sweet fruit and liquorice. Light body, flavour as the aroma.

Bottle 50cl. Cream white layer. Dark clear red brown color. Aroma is leaves, sugar, syrup, caramel. Taste is sweet of caramel birch sap. Hanoi (956) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2015
Bottle. Its a long long time since I drank this. Nose is sweet malt, yeast, a little brown sugar, slight cardboard.
Taste is sweet malts, lactose, hint of cola, slight hint of leather, hint of hazelnut.
There is no real depth to the drink, but at a £1 a bottle and with the abv it’s acceptable as a budget quaffer, and is better than a lot of the macro bitters. The_Osprey (8179) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 14, 2015
500ml bottle, 2.8%, BB May 2016. This looks exactly like cola. Small tan head if forced. Highly sparkling. Aroma is molasses and brown sauce, touch of balsamic. Possibly cola too, though that may be psychological. Body is medium to light, soft carbonation, smooth. Taste is light, kvass-like, cheap fairground toffee, cola, touch of metallic yeastiness. In a blind test, you would easily be able to convince me that this is some kind of crap attempt at making a cola. The 100th beer I’ve tried from Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide. I’m sure there would have been some better beers I’ve could have picked! redders1974 (1506) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2015

500 ml bottle. BB date at the end of March 2016 is almost a full year away.
Looks and tastes like a rather good mild brown ale. Nothing striking here but no apparent defects either, and the aroma reflects some nice medium roasted grains. About as good as can be expected given the style and economical price.
