Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, milk chocolate, licorice, caramel and hops. Nice and dry finish. Would never have recognized ginger if it hadn’t been written on the label. jamesie1857 (2148) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2012
500ml bottle - Another good one, I’m edging over to the Dark Side with all these stouts I’ve just bought. Classic black body / tan head combo - the toastiness and roasted coffee aroma, coupled with an underlying spiciness leaves you salivating for the first sip. When it comes, warmth, coffee, liquorice, then the ginger sneaks in, then a dark chocolate, bitter burnt toast and nuts finish it of in the ending. Excellent stout. Oh Manchester, so much to answer for.

Who would have thought ginger and stout would go well so perfectly? The beer pours creamy, dense, opaque black. A feast for the eyes.
A bit over-carbonated but that is not a problem. Not much aroma.
The ginger is perfectly balanced and marred to the beer. Good hop finish and very pleasant palate. I will definitively be drinking this one again. Smallprint (74) - - OCT 8, 2012
Pours black with some light coming through around the edges, massive, light brown head, wasn’t expecting that as it had been just stored for weeks. Couldn’t smell too much, possibly because of the head, but there were spices coming through and the typical stout roastiness. The ginger has a very pleasant kick, a nice spiciness to the beer, some chocolate coming through aswell, some roasted malts to compliment it. A long lasting spice on the mouth, medium bodied, medium carbonation. Good beer, not at all unpleasant, but I’ve had better. harrisoni (18575) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2012
Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Black beer with dark brown edges, a bit of a gusher with a thick dark beige head. Ginger choc biscuit aroma. I rather like this to be honest. I like the ginger the sting the hop on the finish. Yep, pretty good. BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - SEP 1, 2012
50cl, new English brew Anno 2012, with ginger, from The Bottle Shop Canterbury, complex Stout, malty/roasted and slightly spicy/sweet, not too heavy, balanced, clear, good head, good brew stravale (3065) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - AUG 28, 2012
Black, big big frothy tan head, gusher, good lacing
Aroma - Lots of spicy good quality ginger, dark deep rich malts, gingerbread malts, some plain ginger chocolate, great aroma
Taste as aroma, smooth ginger, plain chocolate, smooth dark rich malts, quite sweet, great flavour, don’t notice the 6.5%, well blended, yummy flavour
Palate - soft carb (eventually), medium body. Smooth rich malty spicy palate. Finish as main flavour, just smooth and yummy
Overall - This is great stout, the ginger / dark malts balance is just right. Another winner from Marble!
