Bottle from Beers of Europe. Great bottle design. Brown in colour, ruddy hints in the depths, decent white foam. Very complex and chewy beer, quite some bitter roasty malt character, coffee beans, nuts, hint of herbal hop, some underlying malty sweetness. Drinks very easily for abv. dchad56 (500) - - APR 18, 2016
Bottle - dark and dense, thick tan head. Smokey, chocolate, coffee aroma. Good mouthfeel, similar tasting with good retention. Easy drinking - very nice. McWorta (1627) - LUXEMBOURG - MAR 26, 2016
Dark brown with a rocky beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dried dark fruits and a hint of roasted nuts develop. Softly carbonated and rather smooth offering a medium body. Roast bitterness and light astringency form the main theme here. Medium yet bit dry finish. theprof (951) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2016
Cask. Pours mahogany with tan cream top. Aroma chocolate flake. Tastes smoothly of milk chocolate with licorice to the back to give a tang. No more than medium bodied despite its creamy qualities. I liked it but cannot imagine drinking another right now.

On cask at Marble in Chorley. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, roasted grain on the nose. Same to taste with a hint of dark fruit like blackberry. Creamy. Dry and coffee-ish in the finish. Lovely porter in my brother’s new "local". Wish it was mine. Towey1989 (2826) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2015
Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A deep brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, marshmallow, slight earth and subtle blackberry. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, some marshmallow, slight blackberry, subtle red berries, a little caramel and some woody, earthy tones. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A smooth, roasted, fruity bitterness in the finish. Started off like a roasty stout but became fruitier and creamier. A nice, smooth porter.
