Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A deep brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, marshmallow, slight earth and subtle blackberry. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, some marshmallow, slight blackberry, subtle red berries, a little caramel and some woody, earthy tones. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A smooth, roasted, fruity bitterness in the finish. Started off like a roasty stout but became fruitier and creamier. A nice, smooth porter. Cask at CASK in Pimlico. Bit too watery of palate, not much chocolate at all although a pleasant coffee taste. Bit too thin all round though, disappointing. jackafholmes (1021) - - FEB 15, 2015

On tap at the Marble Arch, Manchester. A black color and a medium-sized dense head. The aroma features roasty chocolaty notes, as expected; malty notes dominate. Taste is sweetish with soft, round maltiness emphasizing chocolate. The palate is barely medium-bodied but velvety in texture with a flat to average carbonation. Decent, if a bit basic chocolate stout.
