Bottle. Dark brown/red with a decent head. Ash and chocolate aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between milk chocolate and roast. A solid beer.

olio (10462) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 12, 2012
50 cl bottle. BBE 14.06.2013.
Pours dark brown color with a huge, frothy beige head. Aroma is not too sweet with the chocolate, quite dry and fruity actually, some caramel linger on the background, mild hops and some burnt malts also. The flavor is also quite dry and ashy, not the essency and overly sweet chocolate bomb I was expecting, mild fruity notes, the burnt malt and caramel notes are there too. Medium CO2, dry malty palate with a subtle bitter finish. Quite nice actually, a positive surprise.

500ml bottle. Rather an odd one, this. Effervescence on tongue, sweet, unusual taste, , smokey finish.

On cask @ the Marble Arch, Pours opaque black with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has dark chocolate with a hint of cream and perhaps going into coffee. The taste has more of the chocolate and coffee and there is a creamy background. The palate is rich and creamy and is fairly elegant though I’d hope it could have refreshed just a little bit more - suspect a second pint would have been too cloying.

Tasted on tap @Marbles on 31/11/2012. Pours of almost black with a lovely beige head. Aroma is elegant, though not very complex. Taste is pretty silky and roasty, slightly sour at the end. Aftertaste is quite roasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, licorice and hops. Dry and smooth finish.
