Tap at the tap room in Santa fe. Hazed dark apricot body. Lingering grey ring of a head. That tart sour fruit aroma makes me smile. Light grape and lemon scents just add to the good times. Woody dark fruit flavor hits me first with the medium sourness coming in that just touches my jaw muscles into a small twinge. Orange candy slice flavor like gers with the wood notes and just a bit of sweat. DesertDevil (699) - Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2013
On tap at Boulders on Broadway. Pours a clear dark golden with a fluffy white head. Great aroma of lactic sourness and slight vinegar. Taste is spot on with the aroma, just more subdued, with some cherries, oak, and leather. Nice subtle prickly tongue, sweet and sour finish. Really good Flemish-style brew. fredrik_ (102) - SWEDEN - DEC 11, 2012
Growler received in trade.
This is a great sour. Easy to drink taste of sour cherries, oak, feel the bourbon, very balanced. phaleslu (10456) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Draft at the Marble Taproom in Santa Fe. Pours a deep, hazed red-tinted orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of tart berries, lactic acid, vanilla, apple vinegar, oak, and grapes. Flavor of oak, lemon, berries, vanilla, lactic acid, apple, and grape. Medium-bodied, with medium-high carbonation that finishes sharp and an acidic mouthfeel that finishes vinous. Starts tart, finishes more fruity. Interesting sour. Tasty and complex. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - NOV 21, 2012
On tap 5 oz sampler at Marble Brewery in Albuquerque, NM.
Clear, amber red-copper with small head and minimal lacing.
Aroma of sour cherries, caramel malt, yeast and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Taste of grapes, cherries, white Cabernet Sauvignon wine and bready malt. A nearly perfect example of a Flemish red. Tart, sweet and stunningly delicious. Wow!
Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation.
