Bottle from The Marble Arch, Manchester, thanks Barber. Poured pretty much jet black wityh a nice lasting tan head. I’d been told this was rubbish but it’s like dandelion and burdock and even though I hate that I thought it rocked. Very tasty and would like to try again.

Bottle @ THE Others Tasting. Cheers to Ken for bringing this along! The pour’s deep reddish brown with a small head. Massively fizzy appearance. The nose is big raspberry jam. There’s also some alarmingly malevolent rotting flavors. Pestilent farmland. The taste is tart rotting berry. Some wood. Bell pepper, general unrefined sourness. Light body, WAY over-carbonated. Overall, a disaster! Something’s gone wrong here. Obviously this bottle’s been left for a while, and its been possessed by something wicked. Shame. Almost undrinkable.

Bottle at THE others tasting, thanks to Ken. Exploding cork almost killed a few people. It pours cloudy, very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is musty wood, sourness, mouldiness, tart berry, raspberry, Granny Smith apple and jam. The taste is roasted malt, sourness, red berry, raspberry yoghurt, toast, tartness and lightly musty with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and high carbonation. Doesn’t taste right…. a bit too tart and musty. Tis a shame, as I really like the base beer!

Bottle at The Others Tasting, London - many thanks to Ken for getting us to help him drink the stuff he doesn’t want to drink by himself :). Pours muddy brown with a light tan foam head. Big funky, sweaty aroma, some dank and moldy fruits. Medium sweet flavor with tart raspberry and baking cocoa, a good bit of Band-Aid, roasted malts. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Tangy berry finish with some roasty malts, cocoa and more Band-Aid. Interesting.

Bottle, bought @
Pours all black with a lovely, staying, creamy, cappucino head. Aroma is tart, some liqourice, lemon zest, fresh raspberries, coffee and roasted malts. Medium carbonation, lovely creamy palate. Light tartness, mild chocolate and coffee. Very elegant raspberry tartness with high freshness. Really drinkable.

Bottle @ Chris O. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty raspberry aroma. Sour tart raspberry flavor with some hints of licorice. Has a fruity sour tart raspberry finish.

skortila (5967) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - SEP 27, 2010
Bottled. Tnx Menno. The aroma has raspberries and blueberries, some dark malts. Dark brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is a bit tart and sour, light bitter, has the fruitiness from the aroma and has some roaste /coffee malts. Bit a weird combination.

Ober (2814) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - SEP 26, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 A dark red/brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma is some sour, fruits raspberries and cherries. The taste is fruity too with notes of sour. raspberries. In the aftertaste is some small bitter with sour notes.

caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2010
Bottled, thx to Menno. Dark brown color, short head. Aroma of some roasted malt, sour raspberry note, bit off-balance. Same goes for taste, the raspberry dominates the soft english style imperial stout and gives it a sour taste. Not much bitterness left.

dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - SEP 4, 2010
Bottle, tfs Menno. Dark red wine coloured, slight off white head. Aroma is sweet wine, some turf, lot’s of blackberry and raspberry. Flavour is thin and dry, some sourness some smoke and peat. Very thin mouthfeel, the IS is a bit lost.
