THE Others tasting. Hoping this would have matured nicely but it’s turned. Opaque dark purplish - brown beer. Good tan head. Palate is light and very dry. Seltzer minerals. A little subtle cherry. Semi dry finish. Not lasted well at all.
Bottle @ THE Others Tasting. Cheers to Ken for subjecting us to this! The pour’s deep brownish red with a small head. The aroma’s meaty cherry jam, some burnt wood, mild spices (nutmeg etc). The taste is cherries, cranberry tartness. Some general rotting fruits. Past its best, clearly. Medium body. Over-carbonated (as with the frambozen). Overall, not a disaster, but this doesn’t taste on peak form. Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2013
Bottle at THE others tasting, thanks to Ken. It pours very dark brown with a medium tan head. The nose is sour cherry, roasted malt, toast, berry yoghurt, light creaminess and musty notes. The taste is roasted malt, tart red berry, tangy cherry, bramble, faint chocolate and earth with a dry, berry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and creamy mouth-feel. Ok. Definitely better than the frambozen! Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2013
Bottle at The Others Tasting, London - big thanks to Ken for being Ken. Pours dark, red-brown with a fizzy, fading brown foam head. Fresh, tart cherry nose. Tart cherry flavor with some baking cocoa, moderate roast, some funk. Light to medium bodied with average to high carbonation. Tangy finish, some berry pit bitterness, tart cherry and raspberry, wet wood, some charred wood. Not bad. thewolf (12597) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 20, 2011

Pours deep red-black with a lovely, creamy, beige-pink head. Aroma is tart, lots of cherries, a bit of cinnamon, light peppery. Medium carbonation, dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, chocolate, roasted, mild tartness, light ashy. Good fruitiness. Nice and elegant.
Corked 0.75L bottle, shared by KnutAlbert. Tall reddish hued tan head. Body is near black opaque, with a ruddy glow when holding it up to light. Nice smell of chocolate coated sour cherries. Also a note a cookies and burnt caramel. More chocolate and jammy cherries in the flavor. Light acidic and funky. A pleasant astingent mouthfeel. Fine effervecence. Surprisingly light in body and easy drinkable. Short, light tart cherry finish. Overall a very interesting , well composed and tasty fruit beer. larsga (7540) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 28, 2010
Medium brownish-reddish head. Black body. Roasty dusty chocolate aroma with bready metallic cherry notes. Dry, and faintly acidic, roasty sugary cherry taste with funky barnyard notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish, almost biting tart mouthfeel Dry-acidic chocolatey cherry and wood aftertaste with metallic notes. Really unusual, and nice. (0.75l bottle shared by KnutAlbert.) Bottle from beermerchants.com.
Very dark red, reddish head. Sweet and sour aroma. Pronounced cherry flavour, fuller beer base than a kriek is supposed to have. Coffee.
Reminds me of a cherry-filled chocolate. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUL 24, 2010
0.75 l bottle at Petalax Beer Festival 2010. Dark red brown color, very foamy. The aromas and flavors of coffee, cherry and raspberry. Very tart and tangy. Interesting, but strong coffee and cherry flavors and not completely in balance. fonefan (49361) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 6, 2010
Clear dark brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white and red head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, grape, cherry, berries. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, moderate acidic and modrate to light heavy bitter with a average to long duration, cherry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
