Bottle. Near black with a beige head. Aromas are coffee and toffee with earthy, smoky notes. Floral with dark chocolate and soft spices. Marzipan with oily aspects. Flavours are bittersweet roast coffee with dark chocolate and pepper. Gritty dark chocolate with raisins, berries and grapefruit. Bready yeast with vinous notes. Dry and peppery to finish. Tasty, smooth, fruity and roasted. Excellent.

75cl, at 8.7%Vol, as Decadence, exclusive English brew, from De Bierkoning Amsterdam, complex Stout, roasted/sweet and slightly spicy/fruity, not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, small head, very good brew, yet expensive!

Tap @ BBF ’11. Pitch black with almost no head. Chocolate in the aroma. Lots and lots of chocolate in the aftertaste. Malts, hops and roasted hints. Just a great Imperial Stout! Love the chocolate!

Draught @ Borefts 2011. Black, with a beige head. Aroma of dark chocolates, ash, roasted malts, hints of earth. Medium dense and carbonated, with a dry, roasty finish. Good!

Cask, 8.2% at Borefts 2011. Fruity and herbal aroma. Almost black colour, seems cloudy. The flavour starts off fruity, turning rather roasted. Good fruity aroma hop, almost teaish. Solid alcohol presence.

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival @ De Molen, Bodegraven. Pitch black, opaque color, small off-white head. Smell hops and smoke. Taste bitterness and hops: fantastic! Good balance, medium carbonation, medium to full body.

On gravity at the Boreft Beer Festival, 2011. A pitch black beer with lots of chocolate aroma and flavours. Alcohol is quite present with a long linger and a nice chewy mouth-feel.
