Bottle 750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown/black with a slight transient dark tan head. Aroma is smoky, mildly fruity with mildly oaky, smooth burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is mild fruit, wood, smoke, dark malt. A very laid back IS. Quite nice. Subtle is the word.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Black-colored. Aroma of roasted malt and quite a lot of hops with some citrus notes. Flavor starts a bit sweetish and malty and finishes with a lot of juicy hoppiness. Medium to full-bodied.

Scopey (14778) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2012
Cask at IndyManBeerCon, 2012. It pours opaque black, with a medium tan head. The nose is roasted malt, spice, plum, raisin, currant, treacle, light tanginess, toast and saltiness. The taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, cherry, raisin, plum, sour fruitiness, varnish, toast, subtle balsamic vinegar, saltiness, spice and umami aspect, with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body and soft carbonation. Smooth, complex and well-balanced.

Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 30, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is both roast malt and dried fruit, with a hint of wood and smoke. Semi sweet and very roast flavour, with a bunch of hops, and a slightly burnt finish. Very well balanced and drinkable.

Cask at Borefts Beer Festival 2010: Enough dry hopping to make it borderline Black IPA. Also a 4.1 in this delicious version

Cask at the hanging bat. Pours black, light roasty chocolate, rich, slight liquorice. Tanned way too many of these on my birthday 2 years ago.

Rune (12820) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 8, 2013
Half pint, as Decadence Imperial Russian Stout 8,4 % abv., poured from cask at the Marble Arch Inn. Cream-like, tan-colured head. Fragile lacing. Devil-black body. Mocha chocolate to the nose. Fine taste character of cocoa, plums, and woody vanilla. Lingering bittersweet finish with warming alcohol. Velvety mouthfeel. Full bodied. Enjoying sipper (Manchester, 27.01.2013).
