Bottle @ home. Pours a hazy, golden orange appearance with a big, cream colored head. A touch spicy and earthy aroma that is far more dominated by a nice grapefruity, sappy piney hoppy smell. A bit toasty malty, light toffee, mildly bitter, grapefruit, earthy, piney hoppy flavor with some resin and booze on the finish. Pretty decent brew at $5.99/bomber.

Draft (from notes). Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is big citrus hops that remind me of mandarin oranges. The flavor has the big citrus component as well with enough sweeter caramel malt to add balance. Very drinkable, more like an IPA than a double. Overall, pretty nice.

Bottle shared by beerboxer. Pours clear golden with a rich off-white head and a sweet piney aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor, fairly sweet with a smooth transition to hoppy bitterness.

First New Mexico brew, and it’s a good one. 22 oz. bottle from erway- thanks again, Jeff! Pours a clear copper color with a big, frothy off-white head that leaves plenty of soapy lacing in the glass. Aroma of herbal hops, pine, caramel malts, grapefruit citrus, and some floral notes. Flavor of pine resin, floral and herbal hops, tea, caramel malts, and grapefruit. Light-medium bodied, with sharp carbonation and a leafy, malty mouthfeel and bitter aftertaste. Very nice DIPA!

Pours out a darkish golden, near copper hue with a small rocky head. The aroma can be picked out inches away--candied grapefruit, pine resin, caramel, with a touch of cantaloupe tropicalness. Big full flavor with much hoppy bitterness, pine notes, a little leafy resin, grassy earthiness, with not as much of a tropical sweetness or malty caramel backbone as the aroma would have me believe. Made for pine-hungry hop heads, not for me.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark orange red with thin lasting off white head, pretty hazy. Aroma brought notes of big juicy citrus with orange, grapefruit, some lemon, hints of pine, grass, slight caramel, touch of dank in there as well, nice smelling. Taste is a mix of sweet orange marmalade, grapefruit, lemon, nice orange peel as well, some spice, grass in there goes into some nice caramel, toffee, finishing bitter, a bit more hops. Tasty, nothing crazy, but well executed. A little syrupy on the mouthfeel but not bad.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, orange amber pour with thin but lasting white head, aroma has notes of aged earth, caramel, hints of sweet candied orange, pineapple, resinous pine, slight grapefruit notes as well. Taste is orange peel grapefruit, big pineapple, slight mango, hints of aged hops with some caramel, toffee, biscuit, hints of pine and resinous notes, finishing fairly bitter with some sweet notes. At this point more of a barleywine, but wish I could have had it fresh it tastes like it was very good.

Deep golden pour. The nose is a little bit sweet with lots of orange peel and some other light fruity character. A fresh pale malt flavour through the middle with a kiss of booziness. Lingering bitterness, but it comes across as a bit medicinal.

bottle. gold color. pale malt toastiness buried by bright american high-acid citrus and pine hops. medium-thick body, decent malt structure, bright and snappy across the back. a bit too chewy / syrupy but otherwise clean and drinkable.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 18/09/2010 Big hop aroma. Clear golden coloured and extremely hoppy with a pine flavour. A hint of dryness in a very bitter malt finish.

August 2016 - Cask, gravity dispense at GBBF 2016 as ’Marble DIPA’. Hazy orange, foamy off-white head. Aroma is tangerine, orange, toffee, resinous hops. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is tangerine, toffee, boiled sweets, fruit laces. Pretty nice. Deep sweet flavour. Another beer that’s not really suited to cask, but which delivers anyway. (3.6)
