4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
THE best ginger beer ever in my experience. Most are watery and weak, not reakky sure if they are a pale ale or a ginger beer- this is superb. Huge ginger aroma and taste that leaves tiremarks on your tongue and warms the soul. Firey. Superb. If you don’t like ginger, don’t rate it. In fact, if you don’t like ginger, don’t buy it. Rating should be objective - don’t give it a bad rating just because you don’t like it! That does not make it a bad beer.
Cask Half Pint at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London in Sept 2010 - A Real Ginger Beer. Ginger prominent but still definitely a beer. Hazy Amber in colour. Strong aroma of ginger. Spicy; ginger and peppery. Sweet ginger malty throughout. Dry finish. OK if you like ginger (which I do), but I couldn’t drink another. (2010-09)

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London, England. Clear golden, small head. Pretty heavy ginger aroma. KyotoLefty (10593) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 10, 2014
Cask at the brewpub. From old notes. Nose is ginger. Flavor is burning ginger. Can’t really taste much else! Overwhelming, though very interesting as well. Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2014
Cask at Knott Bar, Manchester. Clear bright amber shade. Thin head coats the glass. Aroma and taste are suffused with ginger, which is rather mild rather than anything approaching throat-burning. Only one real note, but it’s clearly very well worked.

Cask at the Southampton Arms. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin frothy white head. The aroma is dry crisp ginger. The flavour is spicy veg with a strong ginger burn plate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Steer clear if you don’t like ginger! kermis (14479) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2013
Cask at the Southampton Arms. Pours clear dark golden with a small off white head. Aroma of ginger. Flavour of ginger. Ginger in the palate. A long ginger finish. A bit of a one hit wonder this one. HogTownHarry (7064) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - AUG 19, 2013
August 19, 2013 - handpull cask at Southampton Arms. Hazy deep gold with a minimal off-white head. Aroma of sweet grain and earthy floral bitterness, some alcohol. Taste follows, with initial very mild ginger but it develops a strong and earthy bitterness pretty much all from the ginger root. Light body, astringent and a bit still, medium dry almost gritty finish. Not bad. Dommod2011 (706) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2013
Really not for me this one so I’m glad I only had a wee sample. Ginger yes, but not pleasantly so.
