Cask, GBBF 2017. Deep rusty brown colour. Pretty much as expected for the style, luscious sweet toasty malts, not cloying, smooth, and a decent citrus pine hop finish. Not super hoppy flavour for the style. Enjoyable - although I do wonder how the bloke behind me in the queue who ordered a pint of this at last orders is feeling this morning... From bottle, the pour is cloudy and dark orange in color with a thick orange head. The aroma is yeast, caramel and sweet malts. The taste is caramel, sweet and roasted malts. The finish is slightly bitter from the hops and a strong malt backbone. The mouthfeel is medium. stevoj (5434) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 27, 2016
On tap at brewery. Very dark amber with small creamy head. Malt in spades, especially in the aroma. Hops kick in at first sip and linger for quite a while, pleasantly. ABV hides behind the hops, only evident by some gentle warmth deep in the gut. parkerj (53) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JAN 1, 2016
This one just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t finish the tiny portion that came with a seasonal flight. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - NOV 28, 2015
