Clear golden brown, tight white head, and a crisp hop aroma. Flavor is bitter, flowery hop, and finishes with carmel malt.

Bottle from Matt McQ. thanks bro. Pours a golden straw color with nice heads that fades nicely for drinking. nose is mild floral notes, sweet bubble gum. fifst sip is nice balance of sweet malt and high alpha acid hops. finish is slightly malty but hops are grapfruit. nice beer talon1117 (1152) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 3, 2012
The beer pours a translucent, orange-golden color with a moderately full, white, frothy head which settles to a thin but lasting layer and leaves minimal, frothy lace. The nose is full of citrus, grapefruit and light tangerine, soft herbal, resinous pine, light pepper, and a faint floral tinge. The flavor is decisively more resinous and herbal, a nearly high bitterness, moderately high acidity, some grapefruit, white pepper, and slight grass. The palate is light to medium, lively, velvety, and slightly drying. The finish is more bitter than acidic with resins still there but herbal notes left on the tongue. A lot of really nice parts to the beer but some others that prevent a great beer. The acidity is quite high for the style, the herbal nice initially but the only note left after the flavor progression, and the prominent citrus notes in the nose are significantly diminished in the flavor. Actually a pretty decent IPA, especially for the overbearing hop lovers, but just lacks some finesse. natejgood (512) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Pours clean medium golden with a white head. Very hoppy aroma with hints of pine. Flavor is straight up hops on the front of the tongue. Just enough body to offset the strong hop flavor and fairly crisp for a beer with so much flavor. Flavor is a little one note, but it is a good flavor so I won’t complain too much about that. 12 bottle pours a clear orange with a sticky head. Happy with it immediately. Talk about citrus. Grapefruit dominates aroma and flavor. A bit of sweat on the nose. Really enjoy the citrus character though. Damn good ipa.

Gold pour with a thin white head. Tropical fruit and hops aroma. Good solid hops bitterness balanced with honey and citrus. Long crisp finish.
Best beer I had in the Southwest. arminjewell (9676) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear orange pour with nice fluffy two fingers of white head, aroma brought nice notes of grapefruit, lemon, orange, hints of slight pineapple, nice grassy tones, some caramel peeks in as well, slight spicy notes as well. Taste is not quite as good as aroma, but really nice fruity notes with some grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, tropical pineapple and slight mango, hints of spicy with a touch of grass, hints of caramel and biscuit but fairly restrained, finishing fairly bitter but still flavorful. It’s been a while since I had a good solid IPA that isn’t a pain to get, so I appreciate this. As good as it is now, would like to see it when its fresh as well, or with a bottle date on the bottle. cubs (10636) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 4, 2012
Bottle @ home. Hazy, golden orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Fairly rich and fresh resiny, grapefruity hoppy, citrusy aroma. Somewhat bitter yet tasty grapefruit froward hoppy, light sappy, a touch woody flavor with a light burn on the finish. Pretty solid ipa. jbardin (161) - New York, USA - MAY 31, 2012
On tap at the brewery in Albuquerque, NM. A really nice IPA. This could be a model for the style. Honey-colored with a pure but mild bitterness.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. As with the Red Ale, this is pretty well made but I just can’t get excited about the generic green/raw resinous hop odor, which is about all this offers in the nose. Fairly good flavor balance (if a bit too citric for my tastes), nice mouthfeel, nice appearance. So, objectively it’s pretty solid but subjectively I honestly don’t enjoy it.
