Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours hazy brown with a light, tan head. The nose has toasted pine and earth. Medium sweet flavor, somewhat alcoholic, with light dry bread, lots of toasted pine. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, lightly warming finish. Not very dubbel-y. A sort of hoppy dark ale thing. OK overall. weaselkenievil (1608) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2014
Bottle at home from The Bottle Stop. Almost black dark brown with a thin to medium grey beige head. Aroma is nice, yeasty, bread, some spice, strawberry jam, sugar, alcohol, some dark fruit. Flavour has some chocolate added to all that shite, some spice on a boozy finish. Low to medium carbonation. Hints of coffee. Good work. Enjoyed this. A little different. anders37 (26137) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 16, 2013

75cl bottle from Cornelius. Great label! Clean design, and lo a clean and silky pour. Slight but right cream lacing and thin head over lush brown mellow chocolate malts. Very smooth and even light for the style and abv. Good stuff from this emerging UK brewer. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 8, 2012
750ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, chocolate, Belgian yeast, light dark ripe fruit, slight anise, and some dust. Poured a muddy brown/very deep amber in color with a large, creamy, dense, rocky, tan/beige head that diminished slowly and lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Possible particles. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, chocolate, Belgian yeast, slight anise, and some sugars. Medium to full body. Lightly sticky, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, chocolate, Belgian yeast finish is lightly dry. 8.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout. bhensonb (15079) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 25, 2012
750 c&c from City Beer. Pours dark brown with a 4 finger creamy beige head (chalice). Roast malt aroma. Med+ body. Flavor is chocolate, treacle and spicy. Not to mention roast malt. The flavor is fairly intense. Woke me up! As the foam reduces it seems to release a hint of pine. There’s sugar in this, but there’s a lot of bitter to balance. Fairly complex.
