Cask at the CASK, Pimlico, 27th Nov 2010. Very dark brown with a foamy white head. Nose has burnt caramel notes. Good flavour of dark fruit, caramel and roasted malt. A really taste, quaffable dark beer. evergreen0199 (3369) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2011
Cask at Euston Tap, London. A dark brown almost black coloured pour with a small beige head. Roasty, malty aroma. Tastes malty, roasty, some chocolate, dark fruit, bitter. Decent enough but not really my thing. Svesse (8601) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 13, 2011
(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 27 Nov 2010) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with chocolate, coffee, liquorice and dark bread. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, raisins, prunes and a fairly dry finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Nice porter. Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours dark brown with a reasonably thick, beige head. Big roasted and lightly charred malt aroma. Lightly sweet with some caramel, tons of tobacco and burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Plenty more charred malts, tobacco and tar in the finish. Lightly sweet with faint alcohol warmth. Outstanding. planky84 (3263) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 30, 2010

Cask, Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico.
Lovely smokey aroma, peat and wood on the nose too. Also oak.
Taste is dried fruits, tobacco, wood, cream, vanilla and roasted malts.
Stunning blend and ace drinability. Not at all rough on the mouth feel and a testimony to fine blending. Balanced superbly. Fantastic. harrisoni (18579) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2010
Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Very very dark brown, thin beige head. Decent choccy porter, good flavours, but had this straight after the Mild of the Times, which was stunning and although this was solid, it wasn’t as good as the mild. Gravity, Reading 2010 (as ’Mckenna’s Porter’, 4.5%). Mahogany winking with ruby, airy tan halo. Greenery and orange beneath well-done toast aroma. Big bittering hop and charred barley, US soapiness, subtle ashy linger dragging in smoked almonds. Some odd, papery, boiled cherry sweet notes, not detracting from the overall experience. Tasty.

A Sim rate (cask at the Marble Arch Inn): Chocolate, caramel and nuts. Such an addictive aroma. Glorious head and lacing. Opaque black with a red tinge. Red wine, port, and plum flavour. Bitter, but gorgeous brandy finish. So delightful.
