Grain and biscuit malts, some citrus fruits, light flora notes and straw. Clear, pale gold, small, creamy, white head. Light bitter. More grain malts but immediately dominated by floral hops and grass, soft carbonation, light bodied. Nice Golden Ale, very flavourful, nice hoppy bitterness in the finish. Cask at Priory Arms, Stockwell.

On cask @ Euston Tap, London - UK. Color: hazy pale blond beer with no carbonation and really small white foam. Smell: bitter and grassy notes. Nice floral and hoppy hit. Taste: light body with good bitterness attack balanced with malt, sweet and wet. Grassy notes, highly drinkable. Perfect easy drinkable beer. Aftertaste: wet and bitterness, floral notes.

Ive had this one a few times over the years, but finally got around to rating it during a recent visit to Manchester...

Cask at the Marble Arch Inn - Manchester. Pours clear, pale yellow with a thick, creamy white head. The nose holds rindy citrus fruits, hay and biscuits. Light sweet flavour with subtle bitter grass, straw, dry pale bread undertones. Light bodied with fine carbonation; nicely conditioned. Great balance in the finish, with good citrusy hop character, pale bread sugars, light lemony tang. Excellent golden overall - a true classic.

Clear and bright golden with a fluffy white head offering very good lacings. Aromas of toast, biscuity notes develop with a whaff of elderflower and a hunch of floral and white grape notes. Softly carbonated, lightly slick with a medium body. Clean and crisp, well balanced offering a soft sweetness supporting the hop bite in harmony. Short-medium lasting finish. Enjoyed that!

Cask at The Earl of Essex. This place does not have a great reputation for cask, so I proceeded with caution and had a sample first. Pale yellow, still, clear, small foamy white head. Aroma is lime citrus. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is biscuity, musty, light citrus, enduring bitterness. It takes brewing skill to make a low ABV pale beer with such a nice, full, balanced flavour. And served in surprsingly good nick.

Pint in Lyric. Pale yellow amber, thin white head. Nose is very nice. Tropical fruit, guava, passion fruit, grapefruit, slight grassy, tangy citrous fruit. Taste is a light bodied, grapefruit rind tangy golden ale. Body is a bit lightweight. Too many Uk golden ale like this. Lots of promise in the nose but weak and thin in body and falvour.

Very pale. Yellow grapefruit aroma, some grainy huskiness too. Light grains in the mouth, but mainly grapefruit, which does make it refreshing. Interesting and characterful blond. A nice quaffer.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear straw colour with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, some lemon zest, slight straw, subtle herbs and floral hops. Taste is similar of grapefruit, some lemon zest, straw and floral hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. A hoppy, citrusy, floral low ABV beer. Full of flavour, nice.
