22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazzlenut brown and golden with a small white head. Aroma is mild phenolic and vegetable like. Sweet and phenolic flavoured. Mild phenolic and dry caramelish finish. Nice and easy. Travlr (24768) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle courtesy of GT2, thanks. Hazy brown color, small tan head. Aroma of dark caramel. Taste starts with sweet caramel, then bitter light smoke. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 12, 2012
The pour is amber in color with a small off-white head. Has a pretty nice nose on it. Good bourbon and vanilla with plenty of oak and brown sugar. A nice caramel sweetness to go with some hints of dark fruit. The flavor is nice, but not quite as much so as the aroma. A bit thin with brown sugar, toffee, and dark fruit notes. Some bourbon and vanilla, but not the same level of intensity as the nose had. djd07 (14508) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 27, 2016
Bottle thanks to AJ. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, oak, caramel, bourbon. Medium body, toffee, oak, bourbon, vanilla, nice sweetness, very nice. Tmoney99 (14483) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Bottle. Poured clear dark ruby color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex toasted malt, dark sugar and woody alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer.

Bottle. Pours clear brown with a large, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, dates, and mixed nuts, light toast notes, and a bourbon, oak, vanilla bouquet. Earthy and herbal hops hide behind the candied fruits and sugary bourbon. Flavor is sweet caramelized malt, cookie and toast notes with moderate bourbon, light hot, tannic oak, and candied dark fruits. Light spicy hops provide a medium bitterness to play with the peppery alcohol. Full body, medium-light carbonation. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 18, 2013
(22oz bottle) Pours an amber-brown body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of wet cardboard, dark fruit, roasted malt, brown sugar, bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Flavor of roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, raisins, dates, light oxidation, and noticeable alcohol in the finish. crossovert (12934) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 28, 2013
Thinner, more timid at times. Nice bourbon, oak, vanilla, caramel, basically a ba barleywine. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 23, 2014
"2011 I think. Right out of the fridge and bottle, the aroma needed time to warm up, but when it did - this beer was pretty damn good. Big, rich, warming. Sweet leaning from both the barrels and the malty backbone, though the hops were adequate as well. Leaning towards barleywine in style, but an american strong for whatever reason. Toffee, caramel, hops, vanilla and bourbon on the nose and tongue. I’d get this again deyholla (11604) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 9, 2014
Growler thanks to Ilya! Pours a clear amber with a slight brown hue and an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of vanilla and bourbon with sweet grains and a bread backbone. Flavor starts with grain and as light bitterness/booze with growing vanilla and bourbon.
