Beautifully soft chocolatey aroma. Almost black, ruby glints, loose tan head. Much richer burnt body. Not ashy though. Full, but also very drinkable, body. Finish leaves you with a lovely mellow burnt roast - nice one!
Cask Ale tasted at Gallows Bird RAF. Nose of dried dark fruits and malt. Tiny head. Dark brownish black color. Soft slightly dry mildly hopped raste. Some hints of espresso. Dark plum. Coffee in the aftertaste. Brandman (2962) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 1, 2013

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival ’13) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, white coffee and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were hops, roasted malts, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, hoppy and bitter. The hops softened the very burnt flavour nicely. A well-done brew.

Pours pitch black with a bubbly head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of ash, coffee and licorice. Taste is roasty, slightly ashy with notes of biscuits, licorice and coffee. Finish is smooth, slightly roasty and hoppy with some licorice notes. Okay, quite tasty stout.
(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 24 Nov 2012) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, dark chocolate and leafy hops. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, chocolate, hints of dried fruit and prunes. Leafy hops in a finish with a certain bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Nice one. Mid black with a thin tan head that quickly recedes to the edge and forms a film atop the glass.
Nose is roast malt, dark fruit, molasses.
Taste comprises bitter chocolate, light hops, roast malts, molasses.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, quite a bitter finish for a stout.

Cask at White Horse SW6. It pours black with a small beige head. The nose is dark fruit, blueberry, roasted malt, toast and coffee. The taste is roasted malt, treacle, liquorice, dark fruit, toast, decent bitterness, coffee grinds, light charcoal, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation.
